You've maybe heard of Zentangle or Zendoodle, but now we have Zoomdoodle!

Zoomdoodle is instruction done online using Zoom. (Don't worry, it's easy to get online. we will

help you)

Doodling is a way to relax while doing something creative. Warning: It's very addictive! You’ll learn three (3) "doodles" during each session. Later, put

your doodles together to create something like what you see below. It all starts with a single line.

All you need is a fine line marker (micron markers and fine sharpies work fine) and some paper, also have something to make circles - canned food, jar

tops, glasses, etc. work just fine. Cost: $10 for all sessions in May. Take

one or take all, your choice, the fee is the same….Just $10 for the

entire month of sessions. Such A Deal! 2 Sessions Weekly –

Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:00 – 2:00pm or 7:00pm – 8:00pm Both sessions cover the same material.

May 5, 7, 12, 14, 21, 19, 21, 26, 28 Once you are registered, you will receive

an email invite with the link to sign in. Go to www.miltonartsguild.org

to register.

Social Distancing = Zoom Artful Happy Hours

Why Not Add Art to your Happiness?

Milton Arts Guild now offers Artful Happy Hours On Line using Zoom for Parties up to 10 people. All for only $40.

These online parties feature “ZoomDoodling”

Email us at [email protected]

to reserve a happy hour. We will contact you to arrange time & day.

Heard of Zentangle or Zendoodle? ZoomDoodle combines the relaxing but creative aspects of both

Zentangle and Zendoodle.

Now enjoy learning with up to 9 of your friends via the Internet. For Beginners & Beyond. These Art Parties we can do together while

we safely stay apart! Your computer, phone, or tablet makes it easy to get your friends together, share a libation or two,

and experience something new. It all starts with a single line. And it doesn’t have to be straight!

Warning: ZenDoodling can be very addictive.

You’ll need fine line markers (micron markers, fine sharpies, but a good pen will work) a soft lead pencil (#2) and paper.

Cardstock works best (even the non-shiny surface of old cards). Heavier paper gives the best results.

Any kind of tool to make straight lines, circles, and curves can also be beneficial.

During these trying times, we see people step up in all sorts of ways. For Milton Arts Guild, our president, Sue Dutton has done an incredible job of increasing our on-line presence, thinking of ways to keep us afloat financially, and bringing us all together even while social distancing. Lynda Rae Gannon, our vice president, has elevated her game…she has become an online art teacher extraordinaire, leading

zoom classes and keeping that positive attitude running throughout! Please take a moment, when we can all get together again, to thank these ladies. They are

looking toward the future of MAG and keeping us going in new and different ways!

To all who have stepped up to teach online classes, we thank you and look forward to learning something new in a new and different way!

Zoom Models wearing their custom masks.

Shout out to our own heroes!

Sally Reed and Linda Braswell, two women handy with a sewing machine, answered the call for facemasks. Liz Miceli, Sue Marano, Lynda Gannon donated

fabric and other materials needed for the fabrication of the masks. Monies generated from mask donations went to the Go Fund Me page. Most importantly,

Thank You Sally & Linda for helping to keep us safe during this Pandemic!

What have you been doing during this time? Writing, cleaning, zooming, cooking, organizing, working, painting (we hope!)?

How many times did I say to myself, “when I have time, I’m going to…..” Well now that I have tons of time and few excuses for NOT doing something, I keep trying to motivate myself to do

those “going to’s”. Figuring out what night is a “cooking” night or a leftover night only takes a little time. TV binges, reading books, calling/checking in on family & friends, waiting on the

sun to weed the gardens, yeah, those fill some time. I have to say zoom doodle sessions keep me sane and spark my creativity. Am I ever gonna clean my studio? I’ll let you know when this is

over...Rita Poore.

We’d like to hear from you! Please drop me an email ([email protected]) with just a little blurb on how you’ve been coping and creating during this crisis. In an effort to

help keep us all connected during this disconnected time, share your thoughts, hopes, worries, surprises, and of course, funny stories.

Looking Forward with Fingers Crossed When we can reopen, we are considering having our first show be a Celebration of Getting Together

again. Have you been creative during this time of staying home? If not, try creating a piece that speaks to your feelings, happy or sad, during this pandemic. It will be great to share again!

We’ve also decided that the “Shadow Play” show will now be a Judged Show – Not Juried. That means all entries will be accepted, if framed and presented properly (check that prospectus), and that

prize ribbons and money will be presented.

We don’t have any hard and firm dates for these exhibitions, but we wanted to re-start your creative engines. As soon as we are allowed to open, we’ll be getting word to you about all schedule changes.
