I am thankful that our Board of Trustees

is comprised of educators, healthcare

professionals, entrepreneurs, and business

and civic leaders who believe in that motto,

value higher education, and understand the

vital role it plays in our society and the world

at large. I am proud to serve as President and

to continue discovering new opportunities for

the future of North Carolina Wesleyan College.

As we reflect on 2020, there is little doubt that it will be remembered as a

year of challenges. The pandemic caused us to completely reinvent classroom

instruction in ways that remained effective, while keeping the health and safety

of our students, faculty, and staff at the forefront daily. We developed unique

ways to establish social interactions while practicing physical distance and

made positive impacts on students' lives while the world around us seemed

hopeless. It wasn’t easy for anyone.

However, we have managed to persevere and provide for our students in large

part due to the generosity of donors like you. I hope that our students will not

remember 2020 as the year of a pandemic, but rather as the year our Bishop

Nation rose to new heights to protect and support their educational journey.

With that said, I want to personally thank you for your generosity and support

during 2020. We are grateful for the confidence you placed in North Carolina

Wesleyan College to move forward and not let anything stop us from preparing

our current and future Bishops to be leaders in the world.

Since its founding by the North Carolina

Annual Conference of the United Methodist

Church in 1956, North Carolina Wesleyan

College has been a tremendous educational

and cultural asset to Eastern North Carolina

and for the many students who have

attended this institution. Since the doors

of North Carolina Wesleyan College opened,

over 15,000 degrees have been awarded to

students from all over the world.

NCWC enjoys a tradition of educational excellence. Over the years,

administrators, faculty, staff and members of the Board of Trustees have

striven to enhance the curriculum in order to provide an enduring impact on

its students so they can make a difference in the world by transferring their

learning into meaningful daily living.
