Program

There’s an Akrapovic exhaust system for even the smallest member of the Honda CRF series. In developing the Akrapovic RACING system for the 50 F, we wanted to make the youngest riders happy and give them the chance to upgrade their exhaust systems. For the European market systems have a built-in noise damper in order to conform to noise level regulations, and for the US market they come with an approved spark arrester.

PERFORMANCE

Measurements of the Akrapovic RACING system on the HONDA CRF 50 F (with-out muffler insert):

Power: with the Akrapovic RACING system the engine really opens up, with a steeper power curve and a major power increase between 5000 and 8000 rpm. It also nicely fills the drop-out in the stock power curve in this range. The power band is also wider at the top of the range. In the overrev range the Akrapovic system momentarily drops slightly below the stock figure, while from 9400 rpm on the strength of the RACING system is again displayed.Torque: the torque curve also receives an upgrade with the installation of the Akrapo-vic RACING exhaust.

CONFIGURATION

The system is from the RACING line, which means that the header assembly (the header tube and link pipe form a single component) are made of conical sections of stainless steel. The header assembly is connected to the muffler with a free-floating joint held together with a silicon-shielded tensioning spring. The muffler is a Road ver-sion and is made entirely of titanium. It is attached to the frame with a chassis hang-ing bracket which is welded to the muffler. For the European market systems have a built-in noise damper, and for the US market an approved spark arrester, which is also laser engraved on the muffler.
