HomeWork is small design collective. The name of the brand originating from the conditions we work

under from bedroom designing to kitchen based printing. We use these conditions to our advantage keeping print runs small and ideas fresh. This al-

lows us to focus on the quality of the design and the physical transfer from screen to shirt.

Made up of three designers from different back-grounds (illustration, furniture design and fine art) we share a sense of humour shifting from the sur-real to sarcastic and bordering on the sick. We aim

to bring something a bit weird to a sector domi-nated by coolness.

Most recent designs have been examining paparaz-zi, pets, bad tattoo ideas, what ifs, and fictional rock bands. We combine free hand drawing with collage,

tracing, and digital manipulation. We print from silk screens using between 1 and 3 colours. Simplic-ity is the key to keeping the design, look and ethos

of the brand in the right place.

Jonathan Hoodwww.jonathanhood.co.ukJonathan Hood is a Fine artist and designer he graduated from Chelsea college of Art & Design in 2008 with a Masters degree in fine art. His predominantly Sculpture based practice has seen him shown as part of the Glasgow international festival of Fine Art, Futuremap and A.P.T galleries Creekside open. His work also appears in the private collections of some of the countries’ top art collectors.

Through working with relatively inexpen-sive non traditional materials Jonathan builds simple totemic formalist sculptures. Using repetition as a methodology and a deadpan titling format his objects seem to be sarcastic versions of what Sculpture could be.

The simplicity and repetition found in this work translates into his T-shirt design. The designs being made up from the traced outlines of collages made up from hundreds of faces removed from the newspaper.

Andrew Walker is an artist, designer and illustrator. His career started after completing a bachelors’ degree in 3D design at Manchester Metropolitan University. During this period he specialised in designing and making innovative furniture based on simple construction and manufacture. His interest in every stage of the making process is evident in the finished work. Through design, drawing has become the backbone of Walkers thinking and making. This has led to a focus in Graphic Illustration. The works real strength lies in Walkers attention to detail. The level of skill demonstrated in his graphite drawings. Or the satirical humour that underpins his painting. This is a practice that collects scraps of everyday existence, boils down the blandness of conversations and current events and regurgitates something not quite so palatable.

A surprising fondness for M.C Esher adds a level of intrigue to a pop conceptualism that runs right through the different strands of his practice. The repeated forms found in his ‘diamond girls’ wallpaper and the ‘cops and robbers’ map of Great Britain are perfect examples of this.

Andrew is a founder member of the design & fashion label ‘HomeWork Collective’ and lives and works in London.

Adam Martinwww.skidoodles.co.ukAdam Martin is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. He graduated from the University College for the Creative Arts Maidstone in 2007 with a B.A honors degree in illustration.

Since then he has pursued his career by taking on a variety of commissions from a broad range of clients. Including T-shirt designs for House of Fraser and the logos for both Pure Beatz and Death To The West record labels. Most recently he provided the artwork for the front cover of Fly Emirates airlines in flight magazine.

Working with a combination of traditional and digital media, he builds up multi layered images made from original textures and draw-ings which are skilfully blended and then col-oured digitally. Throughout this multifaceted practice runs a sardonic sense of humour that is as much disturbing as it is funny.

Adam Martin designed the distinctive Home-Work Collective logo, the HomeWork collec-

tive website and lives and works in London.
