Purpose of study : Menstrual disorders(Dysmenorrhoea) are the commonest presentation in females.

This is due to physical and mental stress. The hormonalfunctioning in females is mainly depending upon the

psychosomatic factor. This being very well addressed in

homoeopathy, thus Dysmenorrhoea is thought for this project

as a commonest menstrual disorder and to be highlighted with

the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in the treatment ofDysmenorrhoea

.Formulation of Hypothesis, objectives & deliminations of study

Formulation of Hypothesis Efficacy of Homoeopathic medicines in the treatment of

Dysmenorrhoea is focused, as hormonal functioning in females isdepending upon psychosomatic factors. This is very aptly addressed in

homoeopathy. Symptom similarity in remedy & patient is the guide for

prescription. Subjective feeling of well-being is another related fact for

consideration. Also the characteristic feature of reduced or nullified

intensity of Dysmenorrhoea can be a parameter towards efficacy of

homoeopathic medicines.

Inclusive criteria- Cases will be selected between 15-35 age group.

Exclusive criteria Cases with surgical conditions related to uterus,myomas, endometritis etc.

Cases with benign & malignant conditions associated withDysmenorrhoea will be excluded.

Also HIV cases to be excluded from the project.

DysmenorrhoeaSUMMARY - Total 104 cases are treated.Out of which six cases not

reported for follow up.Other cases responded to the treatment.

Dysmenorrhoea is focused as hormonal functioning in females.It is

also depending upon psychosomatic factors. It is a functional

disorder.Hence free of subjective symptoms is the criteria for

improvement. Maximum age group affected is between 17-28years..Remedies are selected on the basis of symptom similarity by

using various repertories as elaborated here.Most efficacious remedies

in these cases are Gelsemium, Pulsatilla & Chamomilla,in this

project .Various other remedies are used as mentioned above

considering symptom similarity.All the remedies are used in 200

potency except Aconite & Sabina. They are used in 1M & 30 potency

respectively.Repetation of doses is done as per the requirement of

cases.

This study shows that Homoeopathy is effective in

Dysmenorrhoea cases by using proper repertory references and

individualizing the remedies for each case.
