On Saturday, February 18 th the Youth Ministry of the hosted an evening of Bowling with the Bishop to celebrate the Archbishops birthday. Thank you to the grade 9 students who came out! It was an enjoyable evening connecting with other youth in the diocese and representing HT with pride! Our grade 8 retreat, originally planned for January, was held on February 21 st at Precious Blood Parish, hosted by NET (National Evangelization Teams) Ministries. The day, centred on the meaning of Confirmation, was filled with small and large group discussions, games, skits, music and more. We concluded with a time of prayer in the church, followed by a Profession of Faith to renew our baptismal vows and remind us of the sacrament of Confirmation. Lent begins today! Lent is a time of sacrifice and preparation for Easter; many people use this time to give something up. Whether we do that, or choose to take something on, like doing daily good deeds, may this time be one of bettering ourselves, in order to see positive change in the world. This Lenten season, be begin with our Ash Wednesday liturgy and, in the words of Pope Francis, Let us pray for one another so that, by sharing in the victory of Christ, we may open our doors to the weak and poor. Then we will be able to experience and share to the full the joy of Easter. To all of our families, we pride ourselves on keeping the lines of communication open. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. As a reminder, the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test will take place on March 30th for our grade 10 students.
