Thank you very much for your interest in becoming an Admin and Data Officer at Holy Trinity CE Primary School.
We are one of six primary schools who make up the Primary Advantage Federation. I hope you find the information
in this pack a useful introduction to our school.
Holy Trinity is a successful and lively one form entry primary school located near Dalston-Kingsland overland
station in the heart of Dalston. We serve a vibrant and diverse community, where excellent relationships promote
an inclusive, warm and secure environment where children feel safe and valued.
Holy Trinity provides a calm and happy environment which enables children to learn and teachers to teach. Judged
Outstanding by Ofsted (2013) we continue to develop innovative practice and promote the highest expectations,
aspirations and outcomes for all children and staff.
We are looking for an Admin and Data officer to join our administration team to support the school in providing
the best possible standards of teaching and learning for our community.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and is continually striving to improve their own practice. Our new
Admin & Data Officer will join a hard working and driven team who are committed to improving outcomes for all
pupils and ensuring that they experience a rich and creative curriculum which prepares them well for the future.

Holy Trinity is a one form entry Church of England Primary School located in the heart of Dalston. We have
classes of 30 pupils from Reception to Year 6 and a Nursery for up to 26 FTE pupils. Holy Trinity is currently
in temporary accommodation as we are rebuilding our school. Our school will be complete in September
2016. Holy Trinity will then become a two form entry school.
Holy Trinity is one of six schools belonging to the Primary Advantage Federation, with Sian Davies as the
Executive Principal. Yvonne Barnett, is the Head of School and leads on teaching and learning in the school
and is supported by a strong Senior Leadership Team.
OUR MISSION
Holy Trinity provides a safe and happy learning environment where children and adults are valued,
nurtured and empowered. We believe that everyone in the school community is responsible for instilling
in our children the values that will help them to become confident and responsible members of society.
Our approach is led by the Christian principal “that you do to others as you would have them do unto you”
and we aim to establish a clear understanding of rights and responsibilities for all. We believe a good
education is the foundation on which our children’s futures are built and equips them for their life ahead.
We aim to develop the whole child through a diverse and culture rich curriculum. We are committed to

Primary Advantage National Teaching Schools
Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and
development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a
central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.
St John and St James, Holy Trinity and Springfield are designated teaching schools, working in collaboration
with the other three schools in the federation; St Matthias, Morningside and St John the Baptist. The school
works in partnership with primary schools across the borough and beyond and play a key role within the
Primary Advantage National Teaching Schools Alliance.

WITH HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, DALSTON
The school enjoys an active partnership with the local parish church, Holy Trinity in Dalston. We frequently
visit the church for assemblies, services, and celebrate important Christian festivals such as Christmas and
Easter together. Our distinctiveness as a Church school is built on the following:

JOB SUMMARY:
To ensure the accurate
maintenance and management of
pupil and school data. Assist in
the provision of an efficient and
effective school administrative
function.
To provide support to
Headteacher and Finance &
Administration Manager
Manager/Bursar by ensuring that
all necessary information is up to
date and that requests are
followed up in a timely fashion.
Be responsible for the
maintenance of the database.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pupil Data:
To assist in coordinating staff
cover requirements.
Maintain robust processes and
manage a varied workload using a
structured, timely and prioritized
methodology. To become a SIMS
administrator / super-user.
Work alongside the Finance &
Administration Manager and
School Business Manager to
ensure the school has
appropriate systems, processes
and controls in place to maintain
and manage all aspects of pupil
data.
Be responsible for the annual
admissions procedure, including
all necessary communications
with parents, arranging parental
interviews and appeals with the
Headteacher.
Load the annual pupil intake into
SIMS in addition to administering
pupils when they arrive, leave or
transfer to the school.
Ensure the schools cash system
database is up to date.
Maintain individual pupil records
in accordance with PLASC
requirements. Produce PLASC
returns and ad hoc reports when
necessary.
Maintain the SIMS database of
pupil records for attendance and
punctuality, liaising with the
Heads of Year, the school Home
Support Worker and Attendance
Officer as appropriate and where
necessary.
Co-ordinate the updating of the
SIMS database and Assessment
Manager with pupil assessment
data on an annual and ad hoc
basis.
Manage the annual updating of
the SIMS database with the
annual timetable and class
changes.
Maintain records of all
disciplinary, behavioural and
special needs issues relating to
individual pupils and updating
SIMS where necessary.
Produce reports when required.
Resources:
Operate relevant equipment/
complex ICT packages.
Monitor and manage stock levels
within an agreed budget,

GENERAL:
This is not an exhaustive list of
duties and responsibilities, and
the postholder may be required
to undertake other duties which
fall within the grade of the job, in

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
English and Math's Qualifications to GCSE level.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline.
Experience of development, management and operation of administrative systems.
Experience of working as part of a team and supporting others in order to achieve a shared vision/goal.
Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.

submit a supporting statement, addressing all the criteria
identified in the person specification. Please specify the role you
are applying for i.e Admin & Data Officer. The reference number
for this application is: HT/AD15.
Candidates are advised that when completing the references
section on the application form to please ensure that:
• Your first referee must be your current, or most recent,
employer
• You provide a referee who can confirm your ability for the role
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to teach an activity or lesson
and will be advised of the details of the lesson observation prior
to interview.
Candidates must ensure that if they are successful at interview,
that they are able to provide evidence of their Right to Work and
Remain in the UK. The school is not able to employ any person
