Sunday in Ordinary Time
Anytime we get a couple of parables
thrown at us it may become a little
overwhelming. So here is a method
I use.
First, is there anything common
about the parables? Well, yes, the
parables talk about seeds. Good,
something tangible. Second, we
know seeds must be planted. Third,
there is a mystery about how seeds
grow. Through science we know
some of the steps that a seed goes
through, but we do not actually
know how it works. Fourth, we know
there must be good soil. And from
experience we only need a little
good soil. Fifth, with care and attention,
a plant will grow and produce
good fruit.
So how does this parable apply
to us? It is for all of us. We are the
seed. There are many phases in our
lifetime. Sometimes we are being
planted, sometimes we are in a growth
phase and finally we are harvested.
This is all part of the mystery of life
God has set up for each of us. No
two of us are alike. Each of us has
been programmed by God to bear
the fruit He desires for His creation.
We do not all have the same soil or
the same amount, but God works
with what He has given us.
Finally, what we all need, is care
and attention. This how we help
one another. And with this final step
we begin again. A lifelong process
of planting, growth and bearing
fruit. Even when we die, we are told
we will bear great fruit in heaven.
Perhaps heaven is the always –bearing,
great fruit? For now, let us concentrate
on helping each other.
Let perpetual light shine upon them

June is the month of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus, a month dedicated to contemplating
the love of God made flesh in the heart
of Jesus Christ. We are invited in this
month to consider the charity of the
heart of Jesus and seek to grow in love
for Him and for those around us. As a
way to deepen our devotion to the Sacred
Heart of Jesus,
We are invited to pray this litany this month:
Heart of Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, formed by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin
Mother, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, substantially united to the Word of God, have
mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, of Infinite Majesty, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, Sacred Temple of God, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, Tabernacle of the Most High, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, House of God and Gate of Heaven, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, burning furnace of charity, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, abode of justice and love, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, full of goodness and love, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, abyss of all virtues, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, most worthy of all praise, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, king and center of all hearts, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, in whom are all treasures of wisdom and knowledge,
have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, in whom dwells the fullness of divinity, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, in whom the Father was well pleased, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, of whose fullness we have all received, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, desire of the everlasting hills, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, patient and most merciful, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, enriching all who invoke Thee, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, fountain of life and holiness, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, propitiation for our sins, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, loaded down with opprobrium, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, bruised for our offenses, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, obedient to death, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, pierced with a lance, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, source of all consolation, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, our life and resurrection, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, our peace and our reconciliation, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, victim for our sins, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, salvation of those who trust in Thee, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, hope of those who die in Thee, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, delight of all the Saints, have mercy on us.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Make our hearts like your heart.
Let us pray, Almighty and eternal God, look upon the Heart of
Your most beloved Son and upon the praises and satisfaction
which He offers You in the name of sinners; and to those who
implore Your mercy, in Your great goodness, grant forgiveness in
the name of the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns
with You forever and ever. Amen.

Spiritual
Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You
are present in the
Most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You
into my soul. Since I
cannot now receive You
sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You
were already there, and
unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be
separated from You.
Amen.

The Beauty of Marriage
The Holy Father dedicates his prayer
intention for the month of June to the
beauty of marriage:
“Is it true, what some people say
that young people don’t want to get
married, especially during these
difficult times?
Getting married and sharing
one’s life is something beautiful.
It’s a demanding journey, at
times difficult, and at times compli-
cated, but it’s worth making the
effort. And on this lifelong journey,
the husband and wife aren’t alone;
Jesus accompanies them.
Marriage isn’t just a social act; it’s
a vocation that’s born from the
heart; it’s a conscious decision for the
rest of one’s life that requires specific
preparation.
Please, never forget this. God has
a dream for us — love — and He
asks us to make it His own.
Let us make our own the love
which is God’s dream for us.
And let us pray for young people
who are preparing for marriage
with the support of a Christian com-
munity: May they grow in love,
with generosity, faithfulness and pa-
tience. Because a great deal of pa-
tience is necessary in order to love.
But it’s worth it, isn’t it?”
The Year of St. Joseph - December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021
A daily prayer to St. Joseph … and a challenge
from Pope Francis’ Patris Corde (With a Father’s Heart)
In his letter, Pope Francis notes how, “Every day, for over 40 years, following morn-
ing prayer, he has recited a prayer to St. Joseph taken from a 19th century French
prayer book of the Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus and Mary. This prayer, he
says, expresses devotion and trust and even poses a certain challenge to St. Joseph:
My beloved father, all my trust is in you. Let it not be said that I invoked you in vain,
and since you can do everything with Jesus and Mary, show me that your good-
ness is as great as your power. At the conclusion of his Letter, Pope Francis adds
another prayer to St Joseph, which he encourages all of us to pray together:
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God
entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage and defend us from every evil. Amen.
St. Joseph, pray for us!
