A Stewardship Prayer
for June
Lord Jesus Christ, You came to bring
peace and offer reconciliation.
You sent your Spirit to heal the
separation between people, and to reveal
how possible for women and men to
overcome their differences and celebrate
their unity through your body and blood.
You revealed your Father as the Father
of all people; a Father who cares for every
single individual and embraces them with
love and mercy.
It is that love and mercy, made manifest
by your cross, that shines your light on us all,
creates new life, offers a new way of living,
and brings a Gospel message that is a sign
of hope.
Give us the courage to live your Gospel
fully even when it brings risk, to share your
word vibrantly even if it leads to scorn, and to
respond to others generously even when we
feel like holding back.
Show us the way to live as good
stewards of your presence among us, and in
doing so, may we shine your light on a
darkened world. Amen.
TODAY, at the 9:30am Mass, we are pleased to
welcome the Atlantic Boys Choir as our guest choir.
This internationally renowned choir will sing the parts
of the Mass and special selections.

in shared activities. Improving our shared experience of Sunday will
inspire deeper faith and a greater sense of community.
The Trafficked Human -The Anti-Human Trafficking
Coalition is working to eliminate the exploitation of women,
youth and girls. It coalition supports Canada’s new law
criminalizing those who purchase sex or who profit from the
sale of another’s body. The social harm that results from
prostitution, as well as the fact that women and children are
most negatively impacted. Further, it is indisputable that
johns, pimps and procurers take an inordinate toll on the
lives of First Nations’ girls, youth and women; their
predation on these communities, and on all communities,
must stop. To learn more about the issue, visit

STEWARDSHIP IN OUR PARISH
Stewardship Profile of the Week
Mark
Has been coming to the cathedral for 4
years.
Serves as Knight and usher.
Motto: “If you go to Christ and you
follow what is written in the Bible, you
have the promise of Christ. You will go
to His Kingdom .”
Thanks, Mark, for serving Christ’s
Church with steadfastness, fortitude,
and purity of heart!
Stewardship Reflection
Saint Paul begins today’s second reading by stating that he
was “called” to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As
baptized Catholics who have an opportunity to share in Christ’s
life through the Eucharist regularly, we too are called to
proclaim the teachings of Christ. We are stewards of Christ’s
Gospel. But how are we responding to that call? Do we listen
for the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Do we evade, dodge or
ignore the Lord’s call? Do we attempt to proclaim the Gospel in
a spirit of compassion and love? Reflect on how you exercise
stewardship over the Gospel. www.catholicstewardship.com
Legion of Mary - The men & women of the Legion are a well-establishedorganization in the parish. They serve in all areas of parish life as greeters, ushers and prayer leaders. They also make house visits to visit the sick, praythe rosary and evangelize. A number of praesidia meet during the week in theParish hall. Contact: Rufina Amandiz, 604-325-9921 or the Parish Office
Lectors - The sacramental celebration of the Word of God is a proclamationwhich must enlighten the minds of the listeners and inspire them in the journeytowards God. New lectors welcome. Attendance at a Lector’s Workshop iscompulsory. Contact: David Cuan, [email protected]
Project Advance - Project Advance is an annual diocesan appeal beginningin Spring. If you can help at the launch and follow-up, it would certainly beappreciated. Contact: Bertilla Watanabe Email: [email protected]
Ushers & Greeters - Help is needed to distribute bulletins, take up thecollection, welcome all who come to Mass and generally be ready to serve witha smile! Contact: Gilda Penfold, Email: [email protected]
We are here to hear the voice of the Spirit speaking to the
whole Church of our time, which is the time of mercy. I am
sure of this. We are living in a time of mercy, and have been
for 30 years or more, up to today. This was an intuition of
Blessed John Paul II. He sensed that this was the time of
mercy…” Pope Francis
