INTRODUCTION

The Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River originated by the differences of height

along the river course.

These falls are located on the border of Brazilian State of Parana and the Argentine

Province of Misiones. These ones also divide the river into the upper Iguazu and the lower

Iguazu; this river originates in Brazil, near the city of Curitiba, so the most of its course

flows in that country.

The falls are arranged in a way that seems like letter “J”; in the Iguazu River you can find

an interesting part of the river called The Devil’s Throat, with 82 meters high, 150 meters

wide, and 700 meters long. It is U – shaped.

About the jumps, the 20 percent of the jumps of these falls are in the Brazilian territory and

the rest are in the Argentine zone.

GENERAL INFORMATION

You can reach the falls from the two main places on either side of the falls, Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) and Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil. As well, you can consider the city of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay.

The access is in different ways. For example:

You can reach the place by Helicopter to get an aerial view of these falls, however in Argentina this alternative is prohibited because of the impact in the flora and fauna of the falls.

From the Brazilian part you can reach the natural park by taxi or bus, but only to the entrance of the park to avoid any kind of alteration of the natural environment. If there are no many people, it is possible an exception for only few time.

The Argentine access is across the rainforest, so this is done by a “Rainforest Ecological Train”. It carries the people to the entrance of de place where you can see The Devil’s Throat closest. There, the people have a breathtaking view of this part.

Also you can do a trip by boat but it is a package given by the tourist guides.

This place is characteristic by its subtropical climate and the abundant precipitation and of course high temperatures almost all the year.

Well, these falls was the reason why the United States First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt exclaimed the phrase “Poor Niagara”.

Also these ones are compared with the Victoria Falls which separate Zambia and Zimbawe.

It’s amazing when you are surrounded by almost 260 degrees of waterfalls.

The touristic activity has been increasing these last years, so both Argentina and Brazil built, each one, an international airport with the name of Iguazu Waterfalls International Airport (Argentina) and Foz do Iguaçu International Airport. The Argentina’s Airport is only 25 kilometers from the city of Iguazu and closer to the hotels than the Brazilian side.

There are more than 10 hotels actually offering services to the tourists, travelers and so on.

BODY/DISCUSSION

Depending on the kind of trip you choose to go there, the prices can change with no doubts.

So, for example we can mention types of trip: When you pay a package or when you decide going solo, either paying your own expenses or backpacking.

The first one allow you to save money, time and the most important, prevention because the hotels tend to be full, at least the affordable hotels because we can find expensive hotel which one night costs more than 250 dollars (Loi Suites Iguazu Hotel, the closest hotel to the falls). So if you pay your package it could cost you about 500 dollars.

If you decide to go backpacking, well you will have show that you are an organized person and at the same time discover your skills to become your travel in an excellent experience.

About the hotel, as I said, you can find any of your preference. The good point of the hotels is that all of them offer the hosts feed, so you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The duration of the trip is a decision of each person, because we should think about the money we have and when we decide to go, if it is a good moment or not.

CONCLUSION

As a conclusion for me, I can say that this trip is a future plan. I have planned to travel a time after finishing the university while I expect some job opportunities.

If I have to choose about what kind of trip, I would like going backpacking. I love traveling and I want to know every place where I pass, even though by now I think I don’t have enough money to choose that option. It will be affordable for me pay for a package, a cheap one, and becoming in a photographer when I arrive there.

At the end, while you’re getting fun, the rest should not matter.
