1. Venice is represented as a cosmopolitan marketplace andcommunity where trade among nations and different culturesthrives. Explore the significance and effects of the play’s setting inrelation to such social and economic relations. Research Venice’sreputation among the major cities of the world during theElizabethan period and its stance towards people of differentcultures and faiths.
