worldwide. So many of these items are mini works of art.

In support of Fair Tuesday, also known as Giving Tuesday, we are running a week long shopping

Spree, from 11/29 to 12/5, and would love you to take part. Each and every purchase of a Fair

Trade item makes a difference in the life of the artisan’s family. In addition, 10% of profits will be donated to the AAUW Easton Branch Scholarship Fund, which supports local high school seniors as they enter college. Please share this catalog with

Fair Tuesday is an ethical shopping movement created in response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The goal of Fair Tuesday is to inspire conscious consumerism and enhance the idea that

everyday purchases can change lives in a whole community. Fair Tuesday features fair trade, ethical, and eco-friendly brands all dedicated to creating positive, sustainable change.

A. Batik Throw African women artisans use fabric scraps from other products to make these boldly colored throws. The locally sourced textiles are batiked using traditional techniques in designs drawn by the artisans themselves. The back of the throw is made from a patchwork of recycled flour sacks. Each item in our collection is individually handmade. Therefore, no two pieces of the same product are

perfectly identical - slight variations in dye color, or finished length/width, or number of components/beads can occur. This uniqueness is one of the attractive features of handmade items, but it does

mean that the piece which you receive in your order, may differ slightly from the catalog photo or the sample piece which you may have seen. We do check that each item shipped to you is representative

of each artisan’s best work.

There are occasions when some items are on backorder. If a backorder situation affects your order, we will let you know as soon as we have this information. You will have the option of selecting a

replacement piece, holding the backorder or cancelling the order for the item in question. We hope that you enjoy looking through our catalog.

THE ARTISANS who produce the items in this collection live in Africa, Central and South America and south-east Asia. Most are communities of women, and the production and sale of their unique, high quality items enables them to improve their standard of living, as they are paid for their labors when they

deliver their finished products. In many of these communities adult literacy programs have been developed and the children of the artisans are receiving a formal education because their parents are now in a position to pay for their schooling. The Fair Trade member groups which work directly with the

artisans help to develop local health clinics and business models which are applicable to specific communities and long term community retirement plans.
