During this time we have built up an outstanding reputation for providing a safe, entertaining and challenging environment for children and young adults. As well as learning new sports and developing techniques and skills, our sport camps allow young people to express themselves, have fun, and make valuable, long-lasting friendships.

We pride ourselves on only using the most talented and dedicated coaches for our hockey camps. We ensure they are all well trained and qualified, and charge them with providing a safe, fun, learning environment in which the young players can excel. This approach has led to many players progressing to international representative level, something we are very proud of.

Over the years, our residential camps have attracted players from all corners of the globe. We have hosted players from as far afield as the USA, Asia and Australasia.

Players of all levels are welcome. Whether a beginner or a current international, we will endeavour tailor your camp experience to meet your needs and expectations.

THE FS RESIDENTIAL CAMP EXPERIENCEWe believe the key to a safe, relaxing, fun and memorable residential camp experience for young people is based on four important factors.

1. OUTSTANDING FACILITIESWe only select the best venues for our Camps. We believe a massive part of the whole camp experience is being in a place that inspires. That means great pitches, great accommodation, great facility staff and great food. We don`t believe that sleeping in tents is conducive to a sports development and learning environment, which is why we use secure buildings and real beds! All the accommodation at all our venues have a high level of security.

2012 Venues: Moulton College, Oundle School, Bisham Abbey, Nottingham Highfields

2. WELFARE PLANS, SAFETY PROCEDURES & TRAINING PROGRAMMESHaving a clear welfare plan is fundamental to providing a safe and secure environment for young people. All our venues have specific welfare plans and welfare managers who are responsible for implementing the plan. In support are safety procedures, a staff training programme, and a student communication plan.

3. HIGH QUALITY, EXPERIENCED, TRAINED STAFFAll our staff are appropriately qualified for the role they are appointed to. Many of our coaches have a residential welfare responsibility, as such they are required to undergo full staff welfare training. All staff, regardless of role must hold a current first aid certificate and have attended safeguarding training.

4. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMMEWe have a dedicated team of junior leaders who are responsible for planning and delivering the FS evening entertainments. Activities include the indoor olympics, field sports, FStastic quiz night, the legendary FS dance and disco night, wet wednesday waterslide, to name but a few.

FS RESIDENTIAL HOCKEY CAMPSOur six week summer holiday hockey camp programme is the heart and soul of everything Futures Sports stands for. We have seen many thousands of young hockey players pass through our camps over the past 21 years. Many have joined the hockey family for life, and a significant few have gone on to play hockey at the very highest level.

A typical week on CampSUNDAY: Players arrive early evening for registration. They receive their welcome packs, are introduced to their corridor welfare officer & new corridor friends, and then have a little time to settle in before the opening camp meeting. The Sunday evening is spent playing games and getting to know everyone, as well as finding out what the plans and rules are for the week.

MONDAY to THURSDAY: Breakfast, Hockey, Lunch, Hockey, Tournament, breathe, Dinner! Hockey groups are set on Monday afternoon following some informal assessment and feedback from the players. We like to challenge all players to improve, but we also want them to be with their friends if they really want to. Following dinner each day are evening activities (see `the residential experience`). All day players are expected to stay until after the activities (8:30pm).

FRIDAY: Finals of the Olympic Tournament, Nix Stix Trix, Camp Photo and the Staff Match make up Friday morning. Once everone has packed ready for home, they have lunch then head to the closing ceremony. All players receive Certificates and Feedback Cards from their coaches. There are also a range of special awards, to which parents are invited to attend.

FS HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMPThe aim of the Futures Sports High Performance Camp is to provide young athletes with access to a performance environment that reflects that of a National High Performance Assessment & Training Camp. (N.B. The Camp is not associated with England Hockey, nor does it form part of the Single System Pathway.)

The FS HPC is a residential 5 day Camp led by a team of coaches who are currently active in Tier 1 JRPC, HiPAC and Futures Cup. The programme includes performance coaching, individual assessment and feedback, video analysis, workshops and presentations.

Last year the camp took place at Bisham Abbey, however, due to GB pre-Olympic training camps, which we tried to move!, we have moved to the equally impressive facilities at Moulton College. Moulton currently hosts England Indoor training camps and has previously hosted the EHB HiPAC.

The Camp is for field players aged 14 to 17 who have attained the equivalent standard to attend a JRPC.

Our performance programme incorporates elements of a national level performance camp, including individual performance planning, nutrition, strength & conditioning, video analysis (technical & tactical).

Last years FS HP Camp was extremely successful, with many of the athletes in attendance subsequently achieving selection for tier 1 competition, HiPAC and Futures Cup.

FS HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMP CLUB FS 15-17 HOCKEY ACTIVITY CAMPIf you have outgrown hockey camp and are looking for a similar but slightly more grown up experience then Club FS is for you.

The Club Camp is for boys and girls aged 15-17. As such, much of the responsibility for planning the week, selecting activities etc. is managed by the coaches/leaders in discussion with the participants.

Whilst the focus of the camp is still hockey, there are a wide range of options to choose from. Last years additional activities included climbing, raft building, long boat racing, a cinema trip, coach shadowing/practice, to name but a few. Provided we can find it in the local area and it is available then, within reason, there are no limits.

This years Club FS will be held at our new venue of Oundle School. We have already identified at least 10 very exciting additional activities in the local area, however, if you coming on camp then why not investigate and let us know if there is something you really want to do.

As with all our residential camps, arrival and registration is on Sunday evening, with the programme running through to Friday afternoon. As a guide, 1.5 days were spend doing alternative activities and 3 days were spent developing hockey playing and coaching skills.

BEES FUTURES HOCKEY DAY CAMPFutures Sports is delighted to have teamed up with Highfields, one of the foremost hockey venues in Europe, for our very special Olympic roadshow day camp.

Highfields is the home of Beeston Hockey Club, who were the most successful club in England in 2011, having won a host of national titles at junior and senior levels. The venue has played host to many national and international competitions over the past 10 years.

The Bees Futures Camp runs from the morning of Monday 30th July to the afternoon of Friday 3rd August, and is open to boys and girls aged 10 to 16 of all levels. As with all Futures Camps, groups are tiered by age and ability.

The day will run from 8.30am to 7pm (Mon-Thurs) and until 5pm on Friday. Lunch & Dinner are included each day and will be taken in the Highfields restaurant.

We will be using the waterbased and sandbased hockey pitches, and have put together an outstanding team of highly experienced, fun, fully qualified coaches.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this Camp is that it will run alongside the London Olympics. We will of course be making the most of it, with opportunities to watch matches on the big screen, use video analysis to identify and recreate skills on the pitch, plus a number of special themed activities through the week.

It promises to be much, much more than just a hockey camp!

We firmly believe that there is no substitute for experience. For every one of the 21 years we have been running camps we have learned something new, a better way to do things or a great new training idea. The majority of our staff return year on year, many have attended FS Camps as players or trained with us on our EHB coach ed programme.

ETHOSAll players who attend our camps are, first and foremost, treated as individuals. Everyone learns and develops differently, everyone has different needs and requires different levels of attention. We insist that training is fun, as we believe it promotes learning and encourages interaction.

EXCELLENCEOur programme has developed over many years, having had input from many highly experienced coaches and programme directors. The programme focuses

WHY CHOOSE FUTURES SPORTS? What makes us different? What sets us apart? Why do we stand out from the crowd? Why do we love hockey more than anyone else?!

on development of the fundamental core skills of hockey (as defined by the EHB Single System), and their application in the context of game play. We also draw on the knowledge of experienced foreign international coaches to spice it all up a little.

LOVE AND SUPPORT THE GAMEFS has always worked closely with local hockey & sports clubs, local hockey associations, the England Hockey Board and many other UK and global sports organisations. We do this not to gain competitive advantage or so we can name drop, but because we believe you can never know enough about anything. We are always learning, always willing to listen and unashamedly always supporting the game of hockey. As well as learning new sports and developing techniques and skills, our sport camps allow young people to express themselves, make valuable, long-lasting friendships, and have truly memorable experiences. Just ask anyone of the thousands of young people who have attended an FS Camp over the past 21 years.
