Our History

Founded by Dr. Nguyen Huu Tung in 1997, Hoan My opened Vietnam’s first private healthcare facility in

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). In 2002, Hoan My opened the country’s first private hospital in Da Nang. Hoan My

now operates thirteen hospitals and five clinics. Over its 20-years history, Hoan My has built a strong and well-

recognised brand with a reputation for delivering affordable, quality healthcare.

In December 2011, Fortis acquired a 65% shareholding in Hoan My and focused on improving operational

efficiencies and placed the network on a pathway to sustainable growth.

Clermont Group invested in Hoan My in 2013, acquiring an 80% shareholding. By August 2015, Clermont Group

had increased its shareholding to 100%.

Clermont Group has continued to strengthen Hoan My’s integrated healthcare platform by expanding its

facilities, upgrading to the latest technologies, and investing in its staff through education and training.

We Invest in Our Hospitals

Since Clermont Group became the owners of Hoan My in 2013, Hoan My has invested significantly in

upgrading facilities and new equipment.

Hoan My Cuu Long – New Hospital Wing

Hoan My Cuu Long completed the construction of two new hospital blocks in 2013. These new buildings

added 100 beds to the hospital. Cuu Long has also upgraded to a new 128 slice MSCT scanner in 2016.

Hoan My Sai Gon – Set Up Premier Area

In 2015, Hoan My Sai Gon added 22 beds and established a new premier outpatient and inpatient area.

Hoan My Da Nang Expansion

Hoan My is planning to expand its Da Nang hospital which will add 108 beds by 2018.

Hoan My Sai Gon Clinic Upgrade

In 2015, Hoan My Sai Gon Clinic completed a refurbishment and renovation program.

Hoan My Van Phuc Hospital Group Expansion

In 2016, Hoan My Van Phuc Hospital 1 completed construction of a new 200-bed hospital wing. Hoan My

Van Phuc Hospital 2 will add an additional 35 beds in 2017. In 2019, the group will open both a new

100-bed hospital and a 350-bed hospital.

Thanh Tam Hospital Expansion

In 2018, Thanh Tam Hospital plans to upgrade its existing facility and add an additional 160 beds.

Binh Duong General Hospital Expansion and Upgrade

In 2018, Binh Duong General Hospital will upgrade its existing facility and add an additional 140 beds.

We Are Growing Our Hospital Network

We Are Growing The Hoan My Family

The Hoan My family of hospitals is growing. Since 2013, Hoan My has added eight hospitals and four

clinics – Dong Nai International Hospital, Vinh International Hospital, Van Phuc hospital group, Hanh Phuc

International Hospital and Clinic, Binh Duong General Hospital, Thanh Tam Hospital and Clinic, and Dong

Nai International Trauma and Orthopaedics Hospital (“ITO”). These new hospitals have been successfully

integrated and share Hoan My’s vision, mission and values. Our new hospitals are supported by the

network and apply the group’s standardised operating procedures. The hospitals participate in doctor

exchange programmes, and participate in the numerous training and education opportunities provided by

the Group.

Dong Nai International Hospital Joins The Hoan My Family In 2014

In 2014 Hoan My acquired Dong Nai International Hospital located in Binh Duong. The hospital has 160

operating beds and a capacity of 400 beds. Since being acquired, we have launched several new clinical

programs focusing on developing new services and improving clinical quality. As a result of our efforts, Dong

Nai Hospital’s patient numbers almost doubled in the 12 months following acquisition.

Vinh International Hospital

Hoan My welcomed Vinh International Hospital to the family in 2016. Vinh International Hospital has 225

operating beds and a capacity of 500 beds and serves the people of Nge Anh province.

Van Phuc Hospital Group

Hoan My acquired Van Phuc hospital group in 2016. The hospital group comprises of two general hospitals and

two polyclinics and is strategically located in Binh Duong province, an area underserved by quality healthcare.

The group has a total of 322 operating beds, a capacity of up to 800 beds and serves over 750,000 patients

per year.

Thanh Tam Hospital and Clinic

Hoan My acquired Thanh Tam Hospital and Clinic in 2017. The hospital and clinic are strategically located in Binh

Phuoc province, an area underserved by quality healthcare. The hospital has 160 operating beds and serves

nearly 100,000 patients per year.


Hoan My acquired Binh Duong General Hospital in 2017. The hospital has 140 operating beds, with a capacity

for 140 beds and is located in the highly populated province of Binh Duong. The hospital serves nearly 140,000

patients per year.

Hanh Phuc International Hospital and Clinic

Hoan My acquired Hanh Phuc International Hospital and Clinic in 2017. Hanh Phuc is one of the leading private

hospitals specialising in obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics located in Ho Chi Minh City. The hospital,

with 130 operating beds and a capacity of up to 260 beds, offers international standard care and provides a

comprehensive range of quality healthcare for women and children.

Dong Nai International Trauma and Orthopaedics Hospital

Hoan My acquired Dong Nai International Trauma and Orthopaedics Hospital (“ITO”) at the end of 2017.

Established in 2012, ITO is the leading trauma and orthopaedics hospital in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.

The hospital currently has 125 operating beds and serves 500,000 patients annually.

Hoan My invests significantly in learning and developing for our people and have developed a comprehensive

human resource and talent strategy. We work to support each employee in building a career and achieving

their goals. A range of training and development initiatives, including functional training, continuous medical

education leadership training and mid-career training, are designed to help our people be the best they can.

Continuous Medical Training for Medical Staff

In 2016, Hoan My conducted over 310 training courses and workshops for our doctors and nurses across our

network, both in Vietnam and overseas. Our workshops and training courses are focused on new techniques

and procedures, quality improvement and patient safety. We also provide speciality specific training courses in

our major clinical areas. All medical staff receive training in customer service.

Collaboration with The Medical City Hospital Group In The Philippines

Clermont Group is a significant shareholder in The Medical City (TMC), a leading hospital group in The Philippines.

TMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) – the world’s most prestigious accrediting body

for healthcare organisations. Since 2013, Clermont Group has facilitated a number of collaborative education

programmes between TMC and Hoan My to help raise Hoan My’s clinical quality standards. Training programmes

have included nurse training, infection control management, ICU management, patient safety and customer

service training.

Tailored Training for Non-Medical Staff

For non-medical staff, Hoan My provides tailored training courses. In 2016, senior hospital management

attended hospital management and quality management courses. The finance team received training in risk

management and IT team was trained by CISCO.

Focus On Developing Hospital Management Capabilities

Along with continuous medical training, we provide more than 20 management courses for our medical

staff. In 2016, Hoan My established the Future Leader Programme to develop key talent for hospital

management positions.

At Hoan My, we not only work with our heads, but our hearts. Hoan My has a strong focus on engaging

and serving communities, helping the poor, the disabled, children and the elderly. We conduct free health

screenings, provide community health education, and first aid training for many groups across the country.

Hoan My is recognised as a leader in supporting the healthcare of communities.

Since 2013, We Have Served Over 300,000 Patients in Need

In 2016, we conducted 410 community healthcare events that included free health screenings, free medicines,

health education and charitable gifts across 30 provinces in Vietnam.

Partnership with NGOs to Transform Lives

Hoan My has partnered with many charities and NGOs to raise money for poor patients. These organisations

include Vina Capital Foundation, Children Action Foundation, Understanding the Heart Charity Fund and the

National Fund for Vietnamese Children. Through these programmes, we have saved and transformed many lives.

These include many children who have congenital heart disease, cleft palates and orthopaedics malformations.

As the first private hospital with cardiac surgery and cardiac intervention capabilities, we conducted 380 charity

congenital heart surgeries for needy patients in 2015.
