To become a professional who works to improve the health of others so that I may do my duty to help make the change I wish to see in the world. I wish to see longer lives and happier people. To

accomplish this, my persistence and realism will help me reach my personal goals so that I may then find ways to encourage and motivate others. Accepting setbacks and creating new ideas will

help me through the processes of life and work.

Anne-Louise Wissinger

The Hagedorn Little Village School

750 Hicksville Road

Seaford, New York 11783

Dear Ms. Wissinger:

I am writing to you and sending my resume in response to your need for a dance/movement therapist. I found the job posting on the website for the American Dance Therapy Association. After visiting your website I immediately appreciated the type of community and facility that the Little Village School provides to the students and families.

I will be graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Fitness and a Minor in Spanish. As well as other job experiences I have been part of four programs which I believe reflect the same goals and missions as your facility.

I have two years of experience as both a Peer Mentor for high school freshman and as a one-on-one mentor for an autistic student my age. I have worked as a child-care giver for toddlers in a homeless shelter, and I am currently involved in a Spanish Service Learning program as a bilingual mentor for Spanish-speaking students. Apart from my mentor abilities I have been an active dancer throughout high school and college.

I would love the opportunity to work in this determined and supportive mission of helping children. Your students would greatly benefit from having a dance/movement therapist. I’m sure a facility like yours believes that movement can be a great healer as well as relaxant to those stressed by their limitations or frustrations with learning. A fresh face with a love of dancing and children is the addition your staff needs. I look forward to setting up an interview with you and I will call in the next two weeks to find your availability to discuss what needs I can fill for your facility and students.

Sincerely,

Elena Rozzi
