Hitachi Command Suite server option lets you acquire a server, server operating system and storage management software in one easy-to-implement solution. The Hitachi Command Suite server option comprises all necessary components, including a Hitachi Compute Rack server with pre-installed Microsoft Windows operating system and Hitachi Command Suite management software (see Figure 1).

Hitachi Command Suite provides effi-cient management of storage and server infrastructures, which lowers capital and operational expenditure (CAPEX and OPEX). By allowing you to build sustainable infra-structures with leading storage technolo-gies, Hitachi Command Suite supports flexibility. It allows you to align with changing business requirements and maximize return on IT investments.

Windows operating system is also pre-installed and ready to use. This allows administrators to maintain high performance operability and productivity via a familiar interface.

Hitachi Compute Rack is delivered as a storage management server. This rack-mount server is 2U high and uses the latest Intel processor. It is the server foundation for Hitachi Command Suite server option, Windows operating system and Hitachi Command Suite software.

In addition, a host bus adaptor is embed-ded in Hitachi Compute Rack. This sup-ports communication between storage and server over a Fibre Channel connection.
