IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tuesday, June 7, 2011 Start: June 1, 2011 End: June 30, 2011 HELP DENVER RESCUE MISSION STRIKE OUT HUNGER IN JUNE Denver, CO - Denver, CO - Join the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, King Soopers, and the Denver Rescue Mission for the ‘Hit A Home Run Against Hunger’ canned food drive. The food drive kicks off Thursday, June 9 th at the Rockies game at 6:40 p.m. Bring non-perishable, canned food items or a monetary donation to the game. In addition, visit any King Soopers store in Metro Denver to make a monetary donation to the Denver Rescue Mission at the register during check out, June 1 st thru June 30 th . Your participation in ‘Hit a Home Run Against Hunger’ will make this a summer of hope for thousands of homeless and hungry men, women and children served by the Denver Rescue Mission. Just last year, the Mission served nearly 700,000 meals to folks and provided nearly 10,000 people healthy food through the food box program. Denver, CO - Denver, CO - Join the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, King Soopers, and the Denver

Rescue Mission for the ‘Hit A Home Run Against Hunger’ canned food drive. The food drive kicks off

Thursday, June 9th at the Rockies game at 6:40 p.m.  Bring non-perishable, canned food items or a

monetary donation to the game.  In addition, visit any King Soopers store in Metro Denver to make a

monetary donation to the Denver Rescue Mission at the register during check out, June 1st thru June

30th.

            Thanks to the Colorado Rockies and King Soopers for their support.  Please remember there is

no summer vacation from homelessness. Donations and support are needed all year round.
