History Club at North Carolina State University

WmSection 1 This organization shall be known as the History Club at North

Carolina State University.Section 2 The purposes of this club will be to further and enrich the study of

history at North Carolina State University, not only for history majorsbut for all currently enrolled students. the Club shall encompass theentirety of historical study. In addition, the Club shall providestudents with a chance to socialize and engage in intellectualdiscussion with fellow students and faculty members.

MembershipSection 1 Membership shall be open to all regularly enrolled students who are

interested in pursuing intellectual and social involvement in the areaof History.

Section 2 Membership shall be conferred to members who pay their yearly dues.

QficersSection 1 The elected oflicers of this club shall be the President, Vice-President,

Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Events erdinator, and mungfimmmgr.

Section 2 T. e ofiicers shall be elected by the Club members to serve a term oneyear, beginning at the end of the Spring semester of one academic yearand ending at the end of the next academic year.

DuesSection 1 Dues shall be in the amount of $3 per semester to help fund the

ArtiCle V Amending the Consci‘ tion and By—lawsAmendments to the ConStitution or By-laws.shall be presented by members of the clubin writing and read at a regular meetingbut shall not be voted upon until the nextregular meeting, and then only after informingeach member of the proposed amendments. Amajority of 2/3 of the members present andvoting shall be required.

All amendments to this Constitution orBy-laws shall be subject to the approvalof the Student Government.

Any article of this constitution or partthereof that is in direct violation ofthe Student Government Constitution orBy-laws shall be null and void and declaredunconstitutional by the President ofStudent Government. Any differences ofopinion between the club and the Presidentshall be brought before the Legislature,whOse decision shall be final.

The club shall meet as determined by theclub membership each semester.

An official-meeting to conduct businessmuch consist of a quorum of six (6) memberspresent, including two (2) officers.

A meeting shall be considered official onlyif it has been publically announced bythe secretary of the club.

The club shall make provisions for anystanding committees needed and/or forforming any special committees when needed.

The club members shall select the facultyadvisor, by a majority of 2/3 of the members'present and voting, at the same time thatthe elections for club officers are held.

The club~shall publish a newsletter atintervals determined by the club members.
