Feet are one of the most cklish parts of the body. Humans have nearly 8000 nerves in their feet and many of the nerve endings are near the skin which makes the feet, of young and old alike, more cklish than just about any other area of the body. Of course, baby feet are especially cute. They differ from an adult or even a young childs because they have a pad of fat where the arch of the foot will eventually be once they grow and begin to walk. This makes baby feet look all soſt and chubby. And yes the skin is so soſt on a babys feet, but later, the skin on the sole of the feet will become the thickest on the body. “This Little Piggy Went to the Market”

Who doesn’t know this beloved nursery rhyme? This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef. This little piggy had none. This little piggy went “Wee, wee, wee” all the way home!

And who doesn’t love to sing this little rhyme as we tickle the incredible little toes of a small baby? Those amazing little toes all lined up one next to the other each with its own shape and length and purpose. And how about those teeny tiny toenails!?

And who doesn’t delight in making a baby giggle? Feet are one of the most ticklish parts of the body. Humans have nearly 8000 nerves in their feet and many of the nerve endings are near the skin which makes the feet, of young and old alike, more ticklish than just about any other area of the body.

Of course, baby feet are especially cute. They differ from an adult or even a young child’s because they have a pad of fat where the arch of the foot will eventually be once they grow and begin to walk. This makes baby feet look all soft and chubby. And yes the skin is so soft on a baby’s

feet, but later, the skin on the sole of the feet will become the thickest on the body.

Just about everyone loves baby feet, but what about adult feet? Well… not so much, right? People think of them as dirty and smelly for the most part and well sometimes that’s true. That’s because your two feet have a whopping 250,000 sweat glands!!! When your feet sweat, the moisture makes the perfect environment for bacteria to grow and that’s actually what can make feet stink.

I know when you compare them to fingers that do a lot, toes don’t seem very important. But they are! Their purpose is to assist in walking, balance, and weight bearing. When you walk, your toes provide balance and support so you don’t fall over. That’s pretty important don’t you think!? Given that the average human walks about 100,000 miles over a lifetime, I’d say your toes are VERY important.

forward too much, your toes give a quick and powerful push against the floor forcing your body backwards to regain your balance. Your toes are constantly adjusting your balance to maintain an upright body and head all day long. And if you’re on a boat or certain carnival rides, your toes will work overtime!

What’s probably most amazing though, is that those little baby feet and toes become the adult feet and toes that will carry you around over all those hundreds of thousands of miles in your lifetime. That doesn’t just happen by chance. Your body is smart and all of it is constantly adapting and changing and becoming better every

day. To adapt to these changes, your body needs good communication to all of its parts via your brain and nerve system. Seeing your chiropractor regularly will help you with that.

Your chiropractor will check your spine to insure that the individual bones aren’t disrupting the function of your nerve system. The clearer your nerve system, the better the communication will be, and the better your body will adapt as you grow. Isn’t that amazing!?
