Hips and hind limbs from diagnosis to post-operative care, we will take a closer look at the step by step process. This two-day workshop will take a focus on how you can manage/treat these common orthopaedic issues of the hips and hindlimbs. With specialist educators and tutors helping you in small group practical labs, you will develop your confidence in approaching these cases back in practice. This workshop will build your skills and may be a useful adjunct to preparations for membership examinations.

E D U C A T I O N T E A M

Brian is a surgeon at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston,an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is also host of the weekly radio show Your Pet’s Health. Brian graduated from The University of Florida in 1985 and completed his internship in Washington, D.C. followed by a surgical residency at The University of Florida. He became Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1991. Dr. Beale was an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine prior to joining Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in 1992. Dr. Beale a co-author of the industry-defining textbook, Small Animal Arthroscopy.

DR BRIAN BEALE DVM, DACVS

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2000, Lance spent 8 years in general practice both in Australian and the United Kingdom. He then went onto join the University of Queensland as a staff surgeon. Commencing his residency in 2010, Lance worked his way towards gaining his fellowship in the Australian and New Zealand college of veterinary science for small animal surgery in 2015. Lance spent the next two years as head of UQ small animal surgery before taking a bold step as a founding partner on the Animal Referral Hospital here in Brisbane. He holds special interests in minimal invasive surgery, neurosurgery, complex fracture repair and limb deformity correction.

DR LANCE WILSON BVSc(Hons) FANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)

In 2000, Dr Tan graduated from the University of Sydney, after which he worked in small practice in Sydney. To get some of the travel bug out, Chris worked for some time in the United Kingdom. After becoming a Surgery resident of the University of Sydney, Chris completed his PhD in Joint Kinematics at the Surgical & Orthopedic research laboratories. He is not only a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science, but also a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. After his role as the senior lecturer in small animal surgery at the University of Sydney for two years, Chris has joined the team at Eastside Veterinary Emergency & Specialist.
