Sharing “the Hope” with Kids with Special Needs and their Families Our Biggest and Best Year! Nathaniel’s Hope 2300 Jetport Drive Orlando, FL 32809 Phone: 407-857-8224 Email: info@NathanielsHope.org Website: www.NathanielsHope.org Highlights from Caroling for Kids 2008 We had 16 caroling teams visit 10 hospitals. The hospitals included: In Orlando, FL: Arnold Palmer Hospital, Celebration Hospital, Disney Children’s Hospital (formerly known as Florida Children’s Hospital) & Florida Hospital, Florida East Hospital, Grandma’s House, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Orlando Regional Lucerne Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Winnie Palmer Hospital. In Daytona Beach, FL: Halifax Health Medical Center Hundreds of hours were given by volunteers to assist in the preparation of Caroling for Kids. We are particularly grateful to Pine Castle Christian Academy middle school and high school students, Boone High School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Shenandoah Elementary School teachers and students, and gymnastic students and parents from Orlando Metro Gym for participating in our community work days to prepare goodies! Thanks to Rossi’s Pizza & Pasta and Publix at Conway Crossing, volunteers were kept strong with yummy food! We were blessed to continue our partnership with Walgreens in Central Florida, which resulted in 130 stores collecting toys and goodies! The toys were delivered by the Caroling Caravan teams to the 150 kids at the various homes that they visited, to the hospitals, to 330 of the kids in our Buddy Break respite/kids program, and to an additional 406 VIP kids in need. Many thanks to Walgreens for making ALL of this possible! Over 550 people registered to participate as carolers this Christmas! We continued last year’s “Caroling for Kids… of all Ages!” by going to hospitals that serve more than just kids. We also expanded “Caroling Caravan” and ended up with 72 teams visiting and encouraging 72 families with VIP kids (kids with special needs) who were unable to leave their homes for Christmas! • Thanks to our partners at Z88.3, thousands of candy canes, beanie babies, snacks, and cookies were collected from the community to share with our friends in the hospital. We especially enjoyed participating in the Z Van Stops at the Walgreens stores at Waterford Lakes and Maitland which were dedicated to the collection of goodies for Caroling for Kids. Thanks also to the Z staff for getting the word out and leading caroling teams!

• We had to have a way to carry all of our goody loot around the hospitals and to the homes, and we’re thankful to the Noble Marketing Group who donated 1,000 bags with our Caroling for Kids logo printed on them!

• Over 100 cookie trays were donated to be shared with nurses and caregivers at the hospitals.

• Our “Stories of Hope” booklet was expanded from last year and was distributed to encourage patients and their families.

• We are especially grateful for our outstanding Planning Team, Team Leaders, Musicians, Donors, Hospital Administrators, Donation Drop-off locations, and Toy pick-up/delivery helpers!
