31.01.2019 SWS cricket team participated in Corporate Cricket
Tournament, organised by IES school & Digiana
press at old campion ground Bhopal. Mr. Krishna
Singh & Mr Sumit Taneja of DPS Kolar were part of
this winning team . Mr. Sumit Taneja was declared as
best batsman and Mr. Faisal Meer was declared best
bowler of the tournament. Congratulations!!!!

Capacity Building Programme in Science was
organized by CBSE Headquarters/Centre of
Excellence, Ajmer in Red Rose School
Lambakheda, Bhopal. Ms. Shivani Avdhani and
Mr. Saurabh Sahu attended the two days workshop,
on 29th and 30 th January, 2019.
The workshop " Science in the light of NCF 2005"
aimed at highlighting the importance of Science at
Secondary Level and to enable students to develop conceptual and analytical
skills. Ms Raunika Gagneja , M. Sc Chemistry San Marino Public School
Principal School Indore and Ms Kumud Singh P.G.T. Physics D.A.V. School
Indore were the resource person for the workshop.
Some of the important topics covered in the workshop included Teaching
strategies for each Intelligence, Different teaching methodologies etc. Specially
Bloom's taxonomy was said to be an effective teaching method for class room
teaching.
24.1.2019 ANNUAL INTER SCHOOL SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITIONS
4 students of DPS Kolar Road participated in the quarter finals round fot the
annual Inter School Science Quiz Competitions for middle and high schools
Students conducted by the regional Science centre .Rishabh Kothari of class
VIII- A and Rudra Bahal of class VIII A, Anurag Chittawar of clas X D and Pal
mihani of class X D participated and qualified for the smei finals.
24.01.2019 Graduation Ceremony for Class XII students in DPS Kolar
A truly solemn and impressive Graduation Ceremony was organised on the 24th
of January 2019, for the outgoing batch of class XII of Delhi Public School
Kolar. The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial
lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest honourable Mr
Yogesh Choudhary, IPS, I.G (Law and Order) Govt.
of M.P and Pro Vice Chancellor of Jagran
Lakecity University Bhopal Shri Hari Mohan Gupta in
presence of the school Principal, Ms. Vandana Dhupar

and other dignitaries.
Pro Vice Chancellor Shri Hari Mohan Gupta in his address said that in this
competitive scenario, education is the strongest weapon against challenging
global circumstances and by choosing DPS Kolar as school, the parents have
guaranteed high quality education for their
children. The Chief Guest implored the
students that they must heed to their
parents, teachers and elders but equally
follow their heart.
The evening began with the customary
Ceremonial March Past of the students and
their teachers who were clad in graduation
gowns and caps.The nostalgic students basked in the glory of their individual
achievements as the citations were handed over by the teachers. The school
Principal, Ms.Vandana Dhupar began the proceedings of the evening by leading
the train of teachers and students to light the farewell lamps. She blessed the
children for the new journeys offering each a ceremonial lamp to carry in their
hands across the central podium from the aisle amid the thunderous applause by
the audience consisting of their parents. Lamps symbolise the light of knowledge
that students have assimilated as well as the sparks of wisdom. The school choir
soulfully sang school anthem, welcome song and several motivational songs of
blessing, related to the occasion.
The school premise was a scene of festivities,
happy faces and emotional moments with group
photos, selfies and celebration. The students felt
vivacious after getting graduation robes, hats and
certificates. Students from class XII expressed
their gratitude towards their Alma Matar. The
programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the Head Boy, Palash
Agarwal.

Workshop on Scrutiny and Review of
Global Citizenship Education Handbook
was organized by NCERT at Regional
Institute of Education Bhopal.
Ms. Rishika Solanki ,Ms. Sheetal Gour and
Ms. Bhavana Chaturvedi attended the three
day workshop from 28th January to 30th
January 2019.
“Global Citizenship Education” aimed to sensitize our young learners towards the
global issue and to invent the ideas to interpret problems. It is also enable the
students to develop the broad perspective in the direction of the GCED
Components like Education for a Culture of Peace, Sustainable Development,
Respect for Multiculturalism, Social Justice, Human Rights and Gender Equality
etc. The GCED empower students to develop Conceptual , Analytical,

Behavioral, Socio- Emotional and Critical skill.

26.01.2019 The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with
solemnity and grandeur at DPS Kolar on 26th
January 2019. The day began with the hoisting of
the Indian flag by the school Principal
Ms.Vandana Dhupar. The cultural programme on
the theme 'Gandhi Connect‟, was organised with
a purpose of celebrating the 150th birth
anniversary ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi. It included the melodious patriotic
songs, inspiring mime act, Kavi sammelan and energetic dances in praise of the
nation. Madam Principal awarded the winning trophy to Amaltas House, which
has excelled in literary, cultural, sports and fine arts activities in session 2018-
19.The Certificates and prizes were also awarded to the students of different
classes who have shown their philanthropy in the accomplishment of the mission
of Help Age India.
25.01.2019 Regional science centre Bhopal conducted
quarterfinal round for the Annual Interschool
Science Quiz Competition for middle school and
high school students.

of class X participated and qualified for semifinals.

25.01.2019 Sky is the limit when we sow the dreams
of the future in our younger generation.
Students of class 5 visited Bhopal Flying
Club.It was an informative excursion as
they had a great time interacting with the
pilots, ground and technical staff.
Each student was enriched with all
technical information imparted by the
flying club team. Enthusiasm was at the peak when students were allowed to sit

It was an occasion of exhilaration, anticipation and aspiration for the students of
class XII ,teachers and parents to be part of the second graduation ceremony in
DPS Kolar. The evening began with the Ceremonial March Past with students
and their teachers who were clad in graduation gowns and caps. Dipsites were
poised to slip past the secure surrounding of their beloved school and step
outside. The ceremony commenced with the
lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief

trophies and mementos. Listening to the achievements of their child was a proud
moment for the parents. The celebration was immensely enjoyed by the august

Capacity Building Programme in Social Science was organized by CBSE in
Sagar Public School Saket Nagar, Bhopal. Ms. Almas Nasir and Ms. Reeti
Tripathi attended the two day workshop, on 22nd and 23rd January, 2019.

17.01.2019 We at DPS Kolar believe that for holistic growth of
mind, body and soul, we have to encourage Teamwork
and social adaptability of a child along with the
academics. In order to ensure that our students from
class VII have their share of fun, a trip to Kanha Fun city
was arranged on 17th January , 2019. The students were
all excited and full of energy.
All the students enjoyed the various fun rides and had a gala time trying the
different rides in the amusement park. Students‟ happiness increased by leaps and
bounds after taking up the challenging rides. The energy of students knew no
bounds , as even post lunch the excited students rocked the dance floor.
The trip was a very refreshing one and rejuvenated the students. Students‟ had an
amazing time. Everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had had a
great fun.

an excursion to Sair Sapata.The students enjoyed train
ride and swings. It was a rejuvenating experience for
students which will be conducive to better

15.01.2019 On 15 th January 2019 students from class X enjoyed fun filled and adventurous
activities in Kathotiya Jungle camp. The campsite
is surrounded by lush greenery. The students
participated in many fun activities on the campsite
like balancing on a rope, Monkey crawling and zip-
line. The most interesting part of camp is trekking
and rappelling down from a huge rock in the hills
of Kathotiya

14.01.2019 The students and teachers from Delhi Public
School, Kolar Road visited MP Nagar square to
pay homage to the fatherly figure, Shri Gurudev
Gupta ji.
To commemorate the function bhajans were
sung by the students of our school.
14.01.2019 A Special Assembly was conducted by class 3
students to celebrate the festivals of Lohri and
Makar Sankranti. Students were dressed in
traditional clothes and spoke of the significance
of these Indian festivals. A Gidda performed by
the tiny tots left everyone tapping their feet on
the rhythm of the catchy music. The highlight
of the event was kite flying and the students matched enthusiastically as kites
fought with each other in the blue sky.

Memorial Inter School Dance Competition
on Thursday, 14th January 2019, to
commemorate the Birthday of our Fatherly
Figure Late Shri Gurudev Gupta Ji in which
eight eminent schools of Bhopal participated
in this colourful extravaganza that showcased
the theme “Conquer the Odds”.The concept
note for the theme was you are hero of your
own story.
The event was graced by the benign presence of Shri Nitin Ambaselkar,
Treasurer, JSWS, Bhopal & Chief Accounts Officer, Delhi Public School Bhopal-
Indore-Kolar Road. In his address, he congratulated all the participating schools
for raising the benchmark of the competition.
A thematic Presentation „ Rahe na Rahe Hum Mehka Karenge‟ on Late Shri
Gurudev Gupta Ji‟s life, his journey towards excellence and his relentless drive to
bring it to completion was the highlight of the event and the audience was spell
bound through the entire performance.
The stage came alive when the students of different schools staged spectacular
dances in the competition. The attractive costumes and fluid dance movements
mesmerized the audience with their performance and made it tough for the judges
to decide the winner.
The competition was judged by Ms Kshama Malviya, a prominent kathak
exponent ,Ms Shweta Devendra a well known Bharatnattyam dance trainer and
Mr Ravi Verma a a trained dancer in kathak and western dance.
The winner‟s trophy was bagged by the DPS Kolar Road and IES School bagged
the runners up trophy.

and elevates vision.”
In DPS Kolar a kite making activity was conducted
for the class 1 students .To make them understand
the significance of kite flying on Makar Sankranti.
Students made beautiful , creative and colourful
kites. This was an informative and fulfilled activity
witnessed by all the students.

welcome children on New Year after Christmas break.
Skit on resolutions made in New Year was presented by
teachers of I & II. An entertaining dance was performed by
Nursery and Prep teachers.

International Grandmaster's Chess Tournament 2018.He also

5.01.2019 “Science is beautiful when it makes simple explanation of phenomena or
connections between different observations”. With a view to encourage,
popularize & inculcate scientific temper, the science department at DPS Kolar
organized “SCI-MAGICA” its annual science exhibition on 5th January 2019 for
classes III to VIII.
The exhibits were based on all the three branches of
Science i.e Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Young
Dipsites displayed a perfect understanding of the
concepts by using the scientific principles in the
nodels exhibited by them by displaying working
like home made projector, Air conditioner, Robo-
collector , Infinity mirror , Water alarm , Fire snake major and automatic water
tank ,hydraulic lift , solar car , lava lamp , bioscope, Pressure Gun etc. Game zone
and Fun zone were major attraction of the exhibition. The award winning
„BLIND EYE‟ model was also displayed which worked as motivation to many
who wish to serve the differently challenged people of the society using scientific
skills.
All the exhibits were prepared meticulously under the able guidance of the
science teachers and HOD science department. The exhibition was highly
appreciated by the parents and the efforts of teachers and the students were
lauded by Madam Principal, Mrs. Vandana Dhupar.

7.01.2019 Sahodaya Inter School Debate Competition

Competition was organized on 7th January
2019 by Sharda Vidya Mandir School Bhopal.
4 students from DPS Kolar Road Participated
in the competition .Our students won the best team performances trophy as they
won maximum number of certificates & trophy. The motion of the debate was
„Euthanasia should be legalized‟ It was indeed a proud moment when DPS
Kolar won the competition defeating 15 prominent schools of the city. The school
team bagged three awards out of four. Yashas Shende of class 9 was adjudged the
„Best Speaker‟ for the motion. Anchal Sahai and Kuhu Kothari also from class 9
respectively won the „Best Interjector‟ award both „for‟ and „against‟ the motion.
The Principal of the school Madam Vandana Dhupar congratulated the students
and the Department of English for their superlative performance.

Swami Vivekananda are the guiding light for the
youths of today.
Students of class eighth conducted a special assembly
to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda,
also celebrated as National Youth Day. The iconic speech of Swami Vivekananda
at the Chicago Convention of Parliament of Religions was presented in the form
of declamation.
„Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before
you, and out of that will come great work‟. Youths have achieved great heights
by following these ideals. Students depicted these youth icons which was an
attraction of the assembly and motivated the dipsites. As Vivekananda stressed on
health lifestyle and exercise for the youths, a small Yoga session including
Suryanamaskar and various Aasanas was presented by the students.
In conclusion the students pledged to follow the principles laid down by Swami
Vivekananda.
