Green Apple Day of Service
Green Apple Day of Serviceis a volunteer event in which
people around the world will come togetherto support healthy, sustainable schools
by taking actionin their local communities.
Green Apple Day of Service
Highlandtown #215 is
already a “Green School”
– and we want to make it
even greener.
Green Apple Day of Service
There are ways Highlandtown
is green
inside
- like recycling
Green Apple Day of Service
- and low-flow
0.5 gallon per minute faucets.
That feels good!
Green Apple Day of Service
Highlandtown is also
green outside
- with trees to add to the urban canopy.
Green Apple Day of Service
And there’s a playground just across the street
Green Apple Day of Service
and planters with flowers to attract butterflies.
Green Apple Day of Service
We would like to make the garden greener
--
by picking up trash,
Green Apple Day of Service
-- pulling up weeds and removing old landscape fabric,
Green Apple Day of Service
-- installing new landscape fabric, paving material, and seating,
Green Apple Day of Service
-- planting more perennials and adding mulch,
Green Apple Day of Service
-- and making this little corner of the worlda little greener.
Green Apple Day of Service
There’s a lot of steps to get all this work done . . .
Green Apple Day of Service
. . .
but together, we can accomplish a lot!
