HPPL Interesting Facts 1900- 35 books destroyed due to contagion 1918- Library closed for 6 days for coal strike

and 16 days for influenza epidemic 1905 cornerstone from Carnegie building

placed inside 1930 Cornerstone- which cannot be opened until the year 5105 A.D. as specified in the 1905 HPPL News lettter

Celebrating 125 years Jane Conway, Director of HPPL

the HPPL for 125th anniversary 2 events to promote and celebrate

the history of the library

Highland park and surrounding counties
