DESCRIPTION

Hardened and tempered tool steel. Matrix is tempered martensite with

fine spheroidal chromium rich carbides with angular tungsten rich alloy carbides.

Many primary carbides are noticed indicating inadequate prior forge reduction.

Etchant Components Concentration Etching Time

Ethanol 97ml Nita I 1-2 minutes

Nitric acid 3ml
