IHCjigsaretraditionallyutilisedinalluvialminingoperationstorecovergold,tin,diamondandmineralsands.However,aconstantfocusonnewapplicationsandthedrivetoinnovatehasresultedintheIHCJigbeingappliedinawidevarietyofprocesses.
Itisdesignedtocopewithfluctuationsinthefeedslurry,bothinvolumeflowandinsolidsconcentration.Togetherwiththehighthroughput,itisaneffective
pre-concentrationtoolforanumberofprocesses.IHChasthecapabilityandknowledgetodeliverturnkeyjigplantsasstandaloneunits,orunitsintegratedinamineralprocessingplant.

DESIGN FEATURES TheIHCJigisdesignedtoseparateliberated(free)heavymineralparticlesfromtheganguematerialbythedifferenceintheirspecificgravity.Materialandprocesscharacteristicsdeterminethedesignandsettingsofanimplementedjig.Intheconcentrationofminerals,thereisnoapplicationofchemicals.Intheseparationprocess,onlythephysicalcharacteristicsoftheparticles,slurryflowandthejigdesignareused.
Combinedwiththelowpowerdemand,ithasalowenvironmentalfootprintandhasastandardmodulardesignwithatrapezoidalbed.Toincreasecapacity,multiplemodularjigscanbeplacedinacirculararrangementandcentralfeedingwithupto12modules.Toextendthejigfromapre-concentrationtooltoajigplantwithahigherupgrade,itcanbeplacedinseries.InadditiontotheMonoModule,IHChassmallermodulesforlowerfeedvolumes.
DRIVE SYSTEM TheheartoftheIHCJigistheasymmetricaldrivesystem,whichdeliversthegravitationalmovementthatseparatesheavyandlightparticlesinthejigbed.Thissaw-toothstrokepatternwasdevelopedandintroducedtothemarketbyIHC,andenablesahigh-unitcapacityandoptimalrecovery.
Separationofcoarse–aswellasfine–mineralparticlesisachieved(downto50micron).Thesystemcanbebothmechanicalandmechanical-hydraulic.Inahydraulicset-up,allmodulesaredrivenbyacentraldrivesystem,ensuringanefficientuseofelectricalpower.
