All of our configurations with multiple unit projects can include a pre-piped Companion, for easy installation and less downtime!

WHY INDIRECT COMPANION?In poor water conditions (combined hardness & TDS of over 25 grains per gallon, or aggressive or acidic water) the Indirect Companion Odd Water™ System eliminates scaling and other factors that contribute to premature failure of a conventional water heating system.

Hamilton Engineering’s patented Cold Water Injection System™ (see inset) maximizes the heater’s condensing efficiency by directing the coldest water to the water heater. CWIS™ also provides 100% usable volume, allowing the use of a smaller tank!

The chart above illustrates how the Indirect Companion stays efficient throughout its life cycle (A). The competition’s heaters (B & C) become less efficient over time, and also need to be replaced (B) after approximately six years of operation. The operating costs of the Indirect Companion over time, are considerable less!

WHY COMPANION?Companion’s Cold Water Injection System™ (CWIS) maximizes the heater’s condensing efficiency by directing the coldest incoming water through the EVO’s heat exchanger. The unique design of Companion’s tank with CWIS™ eliminates flow rate restrictions that are common in tankless heaters.

The Companion’s design provides as much as 10% greater operating efficiency when compared to other “high efficiency,” self-contained heaters. When compared to an atmospherically fired self-contained heater, the savings are typically in excess of 25%. The CWIS™ allows reduced cycling and greater volumes of hot water without a drop in delivered pressure, and typical heat loss from the storage tank is less than 1°F/hour.
