The unique mechanical Mobilex® system allows one or more ranges to be moved easily and effortlessly with a crank handle. Mobilex® offers a complete range of shelving to solve specific storage needs: archives, blue prints, books, boxes, CD or DVD collections, files, film cans, golf bags, pieces and parts, skis, tapes, tools, videos, x-rays and virtually anything you can think of. Carriages are designed to accommodate several Montel shelving systems: 4-Post (SmartShelf, QuadraVista®), Cantilever (Aetnastak), Case-Type (Cabinet Style) and semi-industrial Long Span Shelving (4D Wide Span).

The new revolutionary SmartShelf system provides infinite storage possibilities, making it the most flexible shelving system ever offered in the industry of storage. Exceeding industry standards, the SmartShelf incorporates many technologies into single 4-Post shelving.

In fact, the SmartShelf provides full depth or back-to-back configuration, or any combination of both, within the same unit. In addition, shelves are adjustable at 1" and 1.5" increments for full flexibility, adjustability and effective space utilization. WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION & FLEXIBILITYTwo-Piece Rail: Two-piece rail provides better weight distribution at the junction. The junction is always at least 1" apart from the sub-rail joint. This prevents any vertical difference between two adjoining rails compared to the overlap of a one-piece rail with a tongue-and-groove joint. A two-pieces rail embedded in a sub-rail is more reliable than a one-piece rail since it prevents both vertical and lateral movement. Facilitates concrete pouring (if required). Only 3/8" opening on each side of the tracks reduces tripping hazard and dust/debris accumulation. Low profile rail is flush with the finished floor.

QUALITY CONTROLRiveted Carriage: Montel uses aircraft rivet assembly because it is consistent and precise. Quality control of assemblies using rivets is much more consistent than welding. It eliminates the distortion caused by welding. The airline industry uses rivets for the same reasons. Rivets assembly allows easy and economical carriage modifications and facilitate system relocations. Rivets, unlike bolts, expand when seated, thus filling the space more completely and preventing play or looseness, which is undesirable in a moving carriage. Welded carriage is also available but not recommended.

SAFETYADA Compliant: Physically challenged users can easily operate Mobilex® since systems are configured to comply with ADA accessibility requirements from voice-activation control system to ramping and aisle width.

Fully-Grouted Sub-RailsFeatures: Made of aluminium extrusion treated against oxidation. Anchored to the floor and levelled with non-shrink cement (grout). Maximum gap of only 3/8" between rail and sub-rail rim.

Benefits: Prevents rust in a concrete environment. Reduces tripping hazards. Prevents dust or paper clips accumulation.

Anti-Tip Sub-Rail Protection (Optional): Approved built-in anti-tip device for all earthquake-prone areas. Stability is ensured.

Rail: Made of Steel 1" wide by 3/4 " high. Rail is set in the sub-rail and linked/connected with a solid steel rod to other rails enhancing structural rigidity and preventing vertical and lateral movement.

Ramp (Optional): Access ramp made of 12 gauge steel (8" wide or 21" wide for ADA compliance).

Dual Access (Optional): Ideal for workgroup environments where the mobile system is located in the middle of a room. Drive mechanisms and handles are located at each end of ranges for easy and quick access. The dual access electrical keypads feature is also available with the electrical Mobilex®.

SmartTrack (Patent Pending): Conceals the power wiring in the floor track. No more scissor arms or pantographs dangling between mobile units. Up to 16.6% more space (adds a 7th level of shelf) with the SmartShelf 4-Post shelving system versus conventional scissor arm or pantograph systems.

Magnetic or Adjustable Infrared Proximity Sensor: Recessed and flush within the front end-panel(s) providing a clean and aesthetic finished look. State-of-the-art reliable and easy to adjust infrared proximity sensor. No plungers or protruding parts in the aisles. Minimizes stopping impact. Maintenance free.

Wire Raceway: Fully protects the cables. Prevents cables from rubbing on floor or moving parts during operation. Recommended by UL and CSA.

Control Board: Protected against radio frequency interferences and overloads. Plug-in type connectors for easy installation. Diagnosis panel indicates the status of all sensors which facilitates system monitoring. Fuses protected.

Hinged Front Panels: Facilitates access to control boards versus boards mounted on top or under the carriages. Factory assembled.

Motor: DC motor(s) on each carriage offer controlled acceleration and deceleration. Each motor provides instant braking of mobile carriages when a safety feature is activated.

Auxiliary Power

Built-in Battery Back-Up Override: Ensures that the electrical mobile system is always operational even during power failures. Always recharging since already built-in. Eliminates inconvenience of finding a battery pack during a power failure.

Safety Sweep

SAFETY FEATURESACTIVE SAFETIES

Floor-Level and/or Hip-LevelInfrared Safety Sweep The infrared safety sweep protects users and any objects that may fall on the floor. It automatically stops the carriages when users or an object cross the beam. The 3/4" above the floor state-of-the-art reliable foot level safety sweep is fully protected inside an aluminium housing to prevent damage. A hip-level infrared safety sweep is also available (optional).

Emergency Stop Button and Reset Illuminated indicators on each membrane keypad inform users of the status of the system and advise if someone or an object is in the open aisle. As soon as a safety system detects a person or an object, the system stops and activates the reset flashing light. As a first step, the user must check the open aisle and then press the reset button next to the open aisle. Once the aisle is cleared and the RESET button has been pressed, the system is ready to be operational. Pressing any stop button will instantly stop all carriages.

Automatic Lock/Relock Timer Active SafetyThis safety feature can be programmed to automatically lock or relock the system after it has been inactive for a predetermined period. The next user will have to check the aisle and press the RESET button to move the carriages.

Controlled Acceleration and DecelerationEach carriage provides controlled acceleration and deceleration to protect stored books or objects. Each motor has an instantaneous braking system which stops the carriages whenever a safety feature is activated. Electronic thermal overload protection .

PASSIVE SAFETIES - OPTIONS

Human Presence Detector System (HPDS)The HPDS monitors the whole aisle space, not just the floor-level surface. The HPDS combined with the "Floor-Level Infrared Safety Sweep" and/or the "Counting Device" feature offers the safest electrical shelving system available. The HPDS is safer, more reliable and much more economical than multiple cross aisle sensors.

Entry SensorLocks the system when a user enters an aisle. The next user will have to check the open aisle and press the reset button in order for the system to be operational.

Counting DeviceMonitors how many people enter and exit an aisle. The system will reset automatically once the same number of people who have entered an aisle leave that aisle.

Overhead Aisle LightingEach aisle can be equipped with automatic lighting. As the counting device detects the user entering an aisle, the lights turn on and, when the user leaves, the lights turn off again. The lighting system can also interface with the building lighting system.

Voice Activation FeatureFor the user's safety and convenience, calling STOP will automatically stop the carriage's movement. Then, the user will have to press the RESET or call CANCEL to unlock the system.

SECURITY FEATURES - OPTIONSPIN Code Controlled Access - HIPAA CompliantThe HIPAA compliant PIN code access provides security for confidential documents or

materials. The system can be locked to specific departments or employees. Different

departments or employees can have different PIN codes allowing access to specific

ranges only.

Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Locks for Controlled AccessThe whole system can be closed and locked during designated time periods using an

electro-mechanical lock.

Note: This feature requires the PIN code controlled access option.

Auto-ParkSystem can be pre-programmed to close all ranges after a predetermined period of

inactivity to prevent damage from sprinkler systems, light, dust, etc. This feature also

makes it possible to close the system at specific times to prevent unauthorized access

after work hours.

Auto-SpacingRanges position themselves to evenly distribute the aisle space between all ranges. The

sequence can be activated by an internal timer (preset time of non use), a key switch

located on the master panel or a dry contact from the customer building interface.

Building InterfaceSystem can be linked to the building interface (alarm, fire, police station, sprinkler

system, power generator, lighting system).

Magnetic Card Access ReaderIn buildings equipped with magnetic card readers, users can also operate the system

with a card swipe access.
