Information for Applicants

You are eligible to apply for and be awarded the Andre Valencia Taylor Bond Memorial Scholarship if:

• You are a United States citizen, national, refugee alien or permanent resident at the time of application.

• You are a Latino or African-American senior attending a Dutchess County high school and will be enrolled full-time at Dutchess Community College during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.

• You have demonstrated service to your school and your community.

• You have achieved at least a B (80%) average throughout high school.

• You have applied for federal and state financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education rules for Federal financial aid.

HOW TO APPLY

• Complete the Dutchess Community College application for admission.

• Complete the scholarship application form on the opposite page.

• Submit an official high school transcript.

• Submit an essay or a statement that focuses on personal goals and how this scholarship will assist you.

The above materials (except the DCC application for admission) should be submitted by May 15 to:
