Week of November 14, 2016
Dear Polk Street Parents,
Our children were wonderful at making our 50 Veteran’s feel extra special at Thursday’s assembly. This
week is National Anti-Bullying Week and while our teachers have wonderful lessons planed throughout the
week, we also invite students and staff to wear specific things in support of each day’s theme. We start with
Polk Street Wear tomorrow and the biggest change is that Pajama day will be Thursday.
Here’s to a great week!

Highlights:
This weeks highlights honor our Veteran’s for their service,
dedication and love of country. Special thanks to our school
community and staff Character Committee for all the behind the
scenes work that made the day spectacular. From breakfast, to gym
set up, to envelope stuffing, it ran wonderfully thanks to them and to
our students for the personalization of class banners, art, essays and
motivational song.
Ms. Abiuso’s Veteran’s Day Song was awesome and our Boys playing Tap’s with Mr. Rizzo’s echo had
our servicemen deeply moved.
We Really do!
Way to collect those coats Polk Street, as we will donate over 100 coats and right before the big frost comes.
Special thanks to Mrs. Stringer for chairing this event. We are still collecting books for our upcoming book swap.
One of our local scouts is completing an Eagle Scout clothes drive so feel free to drop off any outgrown
clothes for the cause.
