Fun Run for Rylea
On Saturday the 18th of September, a fun run was held for local Rylea Johnson to raise funds for her ongoing treatments.
A total of $420 was raised on the day, with a sausage sizzle held for all the participants. Fun was had by all.
Hot Laps
Michelle Brooks and Pam Darby had the awesome opportunity to take part in v8 supercar fast lap.
This was organised by Pam's brother Les Creely who is a part of the GRM Motorsport team. Both Michelle and Pam had an awesome day and they got to meet great people,
and of course the ride was a huge adrenaline rush. They would like to thank everyone at GRM and also Scott Machlauglan and James Moffat for taking us for our ride and of
course Les. Good luck for Bathurst!

Museum News A lot has been happening at the Museum!
We have now officially taken possession of the former Post Office building.
Keith Borthwick of Semmens Hatch and Anderson, has been a big supporter of this project and donated his legal services to assist us with the purchase. His help and advice has been greatly appreciated.
So now, Stage Two of the project – the refurbishment has commenced.
Overall co-ordination of the refurbishment rests with Merryn and Jane, Gerald and Louise are all managing areas of the project.
Louise organised a visit by museum curators from Beechworth Museum to advise us on layout for our new museum. They gave us some really good ideas and were very enthusiastic about our project.
A work crew from Fulham (organised by Julie) came over and washed all the inside walls for us,
Nellie and Louise took down one and a half of the partition walls and removed the fluro lights.
Pud Darby and John Pawley have donated their skills to the project. Pud has just about finished prepping the ceiling and will start painting next week. John has already filled the sections in the ceiling where the fluros were removed and fixed the hole in the floor in the kitchen cupboard.
Darb Donoghue organised the paint for us – a huge saving.
Glen Chalmers of Glenmaggie Kitchens has donated his services to make the vanity for us which includes the basin, tap and a small cupboard to keep toilet rolls etc in.
Vern Grahams are generously supplying materials to us at cost price.
Margot and Barry D. gave us some new bathroom fittings and accommodation for our visitors from Beechworth.
A big Thank You to everyone who has already helped and to anyone considering lending a hand, just let Julie at the Resource Centre know and we’ll be in touch.
PS. We need some quotes from plumbers for the bathroom modifications. Although some people have been kind enough to work for this project for free, we do have a
budget set aside for plumbing. Phone Merryn on 51480505 if you would like to quote.

Cauliflower cheese tart
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups (225g) plain flour 140g cold unsalted butter, chopped 3 eggs 1 egg yolk, extra 1 small cauliflower, cut into small florets 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 small onion, finely chopped 100g Backfatters German bacon, chopped 300ml thickened cream Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg 175g tasty cheddar, grated Method: Step 1 Place flour in a food processor with a pinch of salt. Add the butter and process until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add extra egg yolk and 1/4 cup (60ml) cold water, and process until smooth. Shape into a disc and enclose in plastic wrap. Chill for 30 minutes. Step 2 Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a 23cm loose-bottom
tart pan. Roll out pastry on a lightly floured surface until 3mm thick, then use to line pan, trimming ex-cess. Chill for 30 minutes. Line with baking paper and fill with baking weights. Bake for 8 minutes, then remove weights and paper. Bake for a further 2 minutes or until dry and golden.
Step 3 Meanwhile, place cauliflower in a pan of cold salted water. Bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce heat to me-dium-low and cook for 5 minutes or until just tender. Drain and set aside to cool slightly. Step 4 Heat oil in a frypan over low heat. Cook the onion and bacon for 2-3 minutes until onion is softened and bacon starts to crisp. Set aside. Step 5 In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, cream and nut-meg. Season. Scatter onion mixture over tart, then scatter over cauliflower and half the cheese. Pour over egg mix-ture, then scatter over remaining cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden. Cool for 30 minutes and serve.
