What a beautiful Easter season reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus and hope. You are the church I love. So very proud of you for your worship, your kindness, your generosity. HEY FRIENDS, SURFING THE NATIONS Julie Nelson, our missionary for Surfing the Nations, grew up on the coast. Many of you prayed for her and nurtured her growing up. Her missionary journey with Surfing the Nations to North Korea last year was epic, history in the making. You are part of it. Thank you. We have more missionaries coming to NCFF this year. I hope you will join us in reaching the world for Christ. LOVEOLOGY We have received kind comments about our current series, The Song: Intimacy and Sex. We are breaking new ground together. Each service we are crafting a theology of intimacy and sex based on the 9 loci of theology which we call Loveology. I am challenging our entire church community to follow my lead and install porn blocking software. For those of you who cannot afford it, we will offer computer techs with no charge to install Open DNS on your computers. Open DNS stops porn at the server from entering your home and family. Thank you Lt. Cmdr. Jim Harkin for your leadership sir. TEEN COALITION OF CLATSOP COUNTY The Teen Coalition of Clatsop County has asked me to be the keynote speaker at their workshop on Friday, May 8. I am very excited to share very healthy truths of intimacy and sexuality with the top leaders of Clat- sop County. Then, in January 2016 I will be the keynote speaker of the First Annual Healthy Sexuality Workshop in Cannon Beach sponsored by Martin Hospitality. Chief Schermorhorn of the Cannon Beach Police Department will bring his staff. If you have interest in either of these events, check out my blog at www.glenmaiden.com for registration and event detail. This is for our children, amen? GLETTER MAY 2015

What a beautiful Easter season reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus and hope. You are the church I love. So very proud of you for your worship, your kindness, your generosity.

HEY FRIENDS, SURFING THE NATIONS

Julie Nelson, our missionary for Surfing the Nations, grew up on the coast.

THE COVE COFFEE SHOP The Cove Coffee Shop had a tremendous ribbon cutting grand opening featuring Terry Morrisey. The NCFF Cove community has honored Jim Morrisey with a fireplace and plaque. Thank you Jim and Terry. We love you and the legacy Jim has left us all. For your evangelism passion you may lead a small group outreach at the Cove. Contact Pastor Steve and Annie Utterback our small group director.

SO WHERE DO WE GO NEXT? WHO DO WE BECOME? LOOK AT THIS PASSAGE FROM HEBREWS 5

7 While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because

of his deep reverence for God. 8 Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he

suffered. 9 In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all

those who obey him. 10 And God designated him to be a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. A Call to Spiritual Growth...

11 There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually

dull and don’t seem to listen. 12 You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and

cannot eat solid food. 13 For someone who lives on milk is

still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. 14 Solid food is for those who are mature, who through train-ing have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong. The context of this great passage on maturity is Jesus.

SO WHERE DO WE GO NEXT? Continued

Note with me the focus on Jesus, prayer, passion, rescue, deep reverence, obedience, salvation. Then the writer calls us out. “...you ought to be teaching others. Instead you need someone to teach you…”What follows is the description of immature believers. They are basic, infantile, no knowledge of right or wrong in a funk of moral fog. Maturity connects to our prayerful passion, deep reverence, and obedience to teach others. Will you move with me from infancy to maturity by leading a small group of depth and maturity? Friends, we are in the apocalypse. Now is the time for depth. Please contact your campus pastor or [email protected] today to lead a group, for the honor and glory of Jesus, and for the sake of depth and maturity in you. Will you do it for your kids and grandkids? Now is the time.

Let’s have coffee at the Cove, yes?

Let’s talk about how to love your friends

and family with the life changing message of Jesus.

PS: ESTATE GIVING

Did you know that when you go to be with the Lord, the government will take a portion of your estate for taxes? Your heirs will not see that amount. Ever. One choice you can make is to designate a por-tion of your estate to the charity of your passion. Your financial advisor can assist you with the details since every estate is different. The result? Your heirs receive the same amount. Here is the bottom line. You can give the government a large estate tax, or you can support the Gospel with your life’s work. Your heirs receive the same inheritance either way. Will you speak to your advisor about your estate tax liabilities? 41 trillion dollars will transfer from estates in the next 20 years. What if a portion of that goes for the Gospel? Will you speak to your advisor about an estate gift for North Coast Family Fellowship?
