We will close the course Monday July 28 th and re-open on Tuesday August 13 th. So far this summer the weather has been fairly cooperative. It has been hot and we have had our fair share of downpours but the majority of the rain has fallen in the afternoon so we have been able to accomplish our daily tasks. As I’ve previously said, the irrigation system is continuing to deteriorate and has given us the biggest challenges due to breaches and leaks in the pipes. Our new Superintendent Eric Simpson told me prior to working here he had just two mainline repairs in his entire 10 year career. He now has added 7 to that list just since his arrival in late May. The afternoon showers have definitely been welcome to take the load off our irrigation lines. Despite the irrigation issues the course is still lush. The turf is extremely healthy and ready for the aerifications planned next week. We recently sprayed a new wall to wall herbicide which has already shown a significant decrease in weed populations. We have been aggressively spraying weeds prior to closure to ensure that we aren’t spreading any weed populations as we punch and clean. There are several areas were the weeds have shriveled. The areas may look bare, but after aerifications they will quickly heal. We have started the first process of shoring up our lake banks on the 15 th tee which was next on Gordon Lewis’ 2009 erosion control study for the HGRD. This year we will only be doing from the tee area to the middle of the fairway. I was hoping to do all of it this year but the materials needed doubled because of the amount that had washed away and the distance in slope. The current perimeter has been an enormous safety concern. Mowers, carts and individuals looking for balls were all at risk due to the under stability of the shore. We also have a section of irrigation pipe that was starting to become exposed from the loss of soil. The crew is progressing nicely through the install and I’m excited to see the end result. The have staked all of the “dredgesox” and have already started filling them with the material from the bottom of the lake. (See below before & after photos) Once the sox are filled, we will be ready to sod directly on top of the sox. I’ll continue to add pictures in future reports. I look forward to sharing with you our progress!

Hello,

The food and beverage department is now preparing for our annual

cleaning. We will be closing on Monday, July 29th, until August 7th. During this time our team members will be deep cleaning the kitchen, walk in coolers, and freezers. We will also be inventorying all of our small wares, and deep cleaning our service areas and bars. Shortly after opening we will be introducing our new menu items with additional appetizers, and a few new lunch and dinner entree’s as well. We look forward to seeing you soon. As always, thank you!
