HM Inspection – Letter of Findings I have just been informed that the letter of findings from our recent inspection will be published on the Education Scotland website www.education.gov.scot on Tuesday 14 th November. A summary of the full findings will be published at a later date on the same website. Instagram, Facebook & Other Social Networking Sites Over the past few weeks we have had several incidents of on-line bullying using social networking sites. This is extremely concerning for all and has caused a great deal of upset both within and outwith school. Can I please ask you to check your child’s internet usage on a regular basis to ensure responsible use? It has also come to our attention that many of our children are ‘friends’ with or have followers who are not known to them. This is extremely dangerous as they are giving information about themselves to strangers. Children should only accept friend requests and follower requests from people that they actually know. Where requests from strangers have been accepted it is quite easy to block or unfollow these individuals and I would strongly recommend that you do this. Nursery News This week in nursery we have been practising recognising our names and some of the children have been trying to write their names using different media. We hope the boys and girls are showing their achievements at home. Holding a pencil, pen or crayon in the correct grip is the beginning stages of writing. Mark making by the children has been evident all around the nursery.
One last reminder that we still need helpers for our Autumn Walk in a few weeks. This trip needs adults to help the children so we can all go together. Grandparents, aunties, uncles are all welcome along. The sign-up sheet is in the cloakroom.
