Can you spare a lunchtime? WRVS lunch clubs give older people the opportunity to leave the house, to meet in a friendly setting while enjoying a hot, nutritious meal. So could you spare a lunchtime to help serve lunches and wash up at the clubs in Bromyard?

Help with local promotional events leading up to the Race for Life on 7 July raising funds for cancer research - distribute publicity materials in your local community and place of work, promote the event among friends, family and colleagues, be an expert in your local area.

Love Horses? A national horse charity needs volunteers at its Bringsty centre clearing

fields of horse dung by using specialist tools, barrow work, haynets and feeding, and for those who

want it, hands on work with horses but very little riding involved.

Time for Tea Host a single Sunday tea party in your own home for local older people who are isolated and lonely. Hosts change monthly. Drivers also required to provide transport for the guests.

Duties include car park and campsite control/monitoring, main office including cash handling, building up, pulling down and clearing up.

Caring and a Good Listener? The Samaritans need volunteers who can take the time to listen and provide emotional support for those going through difficult times. Experience or qualifications not essential as you’ll be given all the training you need.

FASHION? On 18 June, there will be a massive clothes swap. Helpers are needed on 16th and 17th June for sorting, tagging and displaying the clothes and issuing tokens in the Shire Hall. On 18 June, the actual swap takes place and volunteers needed to be on the doors and exchange tokens for clothing.

SUNDAY LUNCH

A residential home for people with physical disabilities is seeking people to help with Sunday lunches – doesn’t have to be every Sunday –

and accompany the residents on trips.

A charity in Wigmore would love to have some help for a couple of hours every two weeks to help with routine maintenance/keeping the garden and external areas neat and tidy. Flexible hours to suit.

WANT FUN ON A SATURDAY?

Then go along and help at the monthly playscheme in Kington for children with disabilities and their siblings. Lots of varied activities in a happy and safe environment.

RAISE FUNDS FOR ST. MARY’S CHURCH Join the committee of St Marys Church raising funds to help with the architectural restoration of this old parish church. Afternoon meetings every 4-6 weeks.

Health and Well-being Volunteer Wanted

Work alongside adults with learning disabilities to help them to learn various aspects of healthy living and citizenship. This includes sporting activities such as the gym, swimming and walking groups, through to skills focusing on citizenship.

Interested in Local History? Good with people?

A receptionist is needed by Leominster Museum to meet and greet visitors.

Are you Game? Help out at a day centre in Leominster for older people with serving refreshments, playing games, chatting and helping with crafts, assisting on trips.
