Herbie is designed to meet the needs of many different plants, everything from flowers to vegetables. Active Growing Technology™ ensures that plants are flourishing without difficulty. Herbie only needs 15 min maintenance per month.

The plant nutrition for the hydroponic ensures a continuous prolific harvest without any additional efforts. With plant nutrients you ensure that the water nutrient balance is always ideal and you can gather a continuous harvest month after month. Check the water levels every few days. Add water if necessary. For a rich and continuous harvest change the water and add nutrients every three weeks.

Herbie is intended for use of commercially available pot plants or plant seedlings. Herbie accommodate up to six watering pots at a time. Herbie is also well suited for growing plants from seeds.

The right kind of lightning is vital to all plants. Herbie’s light provides an ideal temperature and the right kind of spectrum for plants.

HERBIE COMPOSITION

1. Take the Herbie indoor garden from the packaging. Rinse the water container and the plant support with water.

2. Make sure that the water pump is attached to the floor pin. Make sure that the pump control switch is in centre position.

3. Plug the pump cord to the adapter.

4. Thread the lamp cord through the arm and attach the shade to the lamp.

5. Plug the pump cord to the adapter.

6. Thread the wires to the lamp arm. Make sure that the pump and lamp cords are in the right grooves, and the insert the lamp into place.

7. Fill the water container with water so that the water level meter is touching the MAX WATER line. (Approx. 2liters).

8. Place the product in a location where the temperature is as constant as possible. Do not place the unit directly in a driven or parching place.

9. Insert the plug into the wall socket and the product is operational. Be sure to check that the plug is completely dry. If the water does not circulate, check that the pump is attached to the plant floor.

GROWING AND HARVESTING

Herbie is well suited for both seed breeding and continued growth of commercial herb and lettuce pots.

• Seed farming – Tregren’s seed pot is an easy and convenient way to grow your own herbs and salads. Put the seed pot in a Herbie. Wait for it to get moist. Gently press the seed paper against the pot until it is thoroughly moist. You can also use other growing mediums such as rock wool, coconut or plastic foam. If you use mulch or peat, always put it in the pot.

• Commercial herb pots – Remove the plastic cover from the salad or herb pot and place the plant pot into a plant level. Depending on the plant, it can produce a harvest from a few months up to a couple of years.

• Harvesting – The best way to harvest a salad is by collecting the outer leaves of the seedling. This way it will accelerate the growth and get a higher yield. The best way to harvest the herb is cut off immediately above the leave couple and it will grow two new leaf tops.

CLEANING AND WATER EXCHANGE

Change Herbie’s water every three weeks. Thus, the water and nutrient balance will be optimal for the plant growth and the harvest accumulates at a steady pace.

1. Take out the plugs from the wall and remove the lamp. Pour out the water, rinse and clean the container. Check the pump. If necessary, clean it by removing and rising the grating.

2. Fill the container with fresh water and add the new nutrition.

3. Attach the lamp. Insert the plug into the outlet, and Herbie is ready for use. NOTE! Be sure to check that the connectors are completely dry.
