The Light Booster – authentic look and true opalescence on metal frames.

The greatest challenge in metal ceramic restorations is to achieve natural looking aesthetics and opalescence on opaque metal frames. With the new HeraCeram Saphir, this is now particularly easy to achieve. The reason: the Light Booster technology. “Light Boosters” are highly dispersed, light enhancing crystals in a glass-ceramic system that effect internal refractions of light and produce an opalescent effect corresponding to natural enamel. These crystals, which are formed during sintering, are transparent to semi-transparent and produce a double coloration (blue/amber) known as opal-escence. Paired with HeraCeram’s signature synthetic quartz glass, it’s is an effect you have to see to believe.

To maximise consistency, the light booster’s chemical composition was re-engineered to eliminate the aesthetic problems associated with multiple firings. As a result, the brilliant opalescence and naturalness of the ceramic will not be affected by any processing conditions.

Stabilised Leucite Structure – no chipping, reduced firing shrinkage, short firing times

The Stabilised Leucite Structure of HeraCeram Saphir ensures stable CTE values and thus completely avoids the problem of uncontrollable leucite crystal growth over multiple firings. This ensures greater

resistance to stress and no chipping or quality problems in the final restoration. Thanks to shorter firing times, it also saves technicians time.

Paste Opaque – fewer layers, thinner layers, better masking and bonding

All new opaque offers impressive masking power in extremely thin layers (60 - 100 μm). Through enhanced masking and bonding properties, the new opaque is truly unique and extremely easy to work with. HereCeram Saphir’s updated production process includes an adapted milling method. The improved particle size of the powder ensures better modelling characteristics, less shrinkage after firing and denser surfaces.
