• We welcomed the opportunity to bring our energy expertise to the table and partner with the City, along with other stakeholders, in developing a Community Energy Plan (CEP)
• CEP addresses potential for how energy is sourced, generated, consumed, re‐captured, conserved, stored, and delivered in our community
• The Plan received endorsement from City Council in early 2014 – this year we’ll demonstrate a distributed generation project: a micro‐turbine cogeneration unit is being installed at the south end of our building
THE GRIDSMARTCITY PARTNERSHIP

• Collaboration and cooperation are central to how Burlington Hydro approaches its business
• GridSmartCity is a 32‐partner organization of utilities, smart grid innovators, government, academia and industry stakeholders
• Since its inception in 2009, the partnership has sought common ground on a number of industry issues:
– Realizing economies of scale and scope through cooperatives
– Pursuing innovation to support sustainable growth: self healing grids, electric vehicles, co‐generation, etc.
