Helping Businesses Start, Grow and Succeed The Lead Center for the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is hosted by California State University, Fullerton which contracts with seven other economic development, government, and educational institutions to provide no cost consulting and low cost training programs in business operations and management, marketing, financing, business planning and more to current business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs throughout the counties of Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside. Through the efforts of the OCIE SBDC Network’s team of more than 80 business consultants, many of whom are business owners, the Network provides assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their ventures, and stimulates both the local and national economy together with close to 1,000 other SBDC locations nationwide. A Rigorously Accredited Program Capital Infusion (Debt and Equity) $326M+ Jobs Created: 1,209 New Businesses Created: 261 Hours of 1:1 Consulting with Business Owners: 15k+ Focus on Key Initiatives Veteran Entrepreneurship Technology Commercialization and Acceleration The OCIE SBDC like its counterparts throughout the nation, undergoes a rigorous accreditation process every five years led by a team of SBDC state directors from across the country, which examines the network for: leadership capabilities, strategy development, customer and stakeholder focus, performance measurement, staffing and human resources, design and delivery of services and ultimately, economic impact. In 2013, during the last accreditation review, the team found zero conditions for operating the grant. As a result, the OCIE SBDC can continue to provide small businesses with business expertise and resources needed for the future. The OCIE SBDC Network consists of seven primary service locations throughout the tri-county area that play a leading role in: access to capital, business development, export promotion, technology commercialization, manufacturing and more. The SBDC facilitates efficient allocation and utilization of resources, helps create and retain employment, and generates new tax revenue. The OCIE SBDC gets the job done as one of California’s most effective small business assistance programs together with the five other SBDC networks across the state.
