The distinctly modern character of MontVue is perhaps most palpable within its kitchen, where robust, raw materials and strong linear shapes are layered against soft, natural fibres; the oppositional parallels of these elements melding into spaces that are stylish and functional, but with a unique industrial edge. Intuiting the movement of daily tasks, large bench spaces, abounding cupboards, cleverly placed fixtures and fittings, along with thoughtfully selected technology, means mealtimes have an almost rhythmic fluidity.

A colourful stack of pastel hued pancakes - layered with passionfruit mascarpone, fresh strawberries and crumbled meringue - masquerades as a breakfast pavlova, while in a jovial affront to political-correctness, the Hey Bloke is jam-packed with enough greasy-pleasure to make even Elvis’ arteries give a small squeal of fright.
