History• 1537, The Academy, forerunner of the University of
Lausanne, is founded
• 1870, Léon Walras is named Professor at the School of Law of the University of Lausanne
• 1892, Vilfredo Pareto is named Professor as the successor to Léon Walras
• 1911, HEC is created as a Department of the School of Law
• 1926, creation of the HEC Alumni Club
• 1978, HEC becomes an independant School of the University of Lausanne
• 1992, the length of undergraduate programs is increased from 6 to 8 semesters
• 2005, Award of the first Bachelor degree under the Bologna agreement
• 2007, Award of the first Master degree under the Bologna agreement
