H ebrew @ UA ! Established in 1949, the Hebrew Language Program at The University of Arizona is now one of the largest in the country. MODERN HEBREW Elementary Hebrew Students learn all facets of Hebrew language – comprehension, speech, reading, and writing. Intermediate Hebrew This course builds upon Elementary Modern Hebrew and develops students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Advanced Hebrew The course is designed to refine and enhance the skills that the students acquired in the elementary and intermediate courses. BIBLICAL HEBREW Students are introduced to the basic grammar and syntax of the Hebrew Bible. They learn to translate prose and poetic texts, as well as ancient Hebrew inscriptions. The Hebrew Language Program at The University of Arizona is one of the largest in the country and offers courses in Modern Hebrew, Biblical Hebrew and Classical Aramaic. Our students learn not only Hebrew, but the rich, cultural heritage that accompanies the language. Did you know that many non-Judaic Studies majors use Modern Hebrew to fulfill their language requirements? The Hebrew Credit by Exam program allows students to earn UA credit for Hebrew they learned elsewhere.
