GRACE

And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing; and he said to them, ”Why do you stand here idle all day?” They said to him, “Because no one has hired us.” He said to them, “You go into the vineyard too.” (V6-7)

GRACE-COMMON & SALVATION

For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45)

JUSTICE

Now when the first came, they thought they would receive more; but each one of them also received a denarius. And on receiving it they grumbled at the householder, saying, “These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and scorching heat. But he replied to one of them, “Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you, and go; I choose to give to this last as I give you. (V10-14)

JUSTICE & FAIRNESS

There is a difference between fairness and justice. The question of fairness is really based upon self interest. When we insist upon our rights without regard to the needs of others, we become narcissistic.

The question of justice, however, is based upon the needs of others. When we focus upon the needs of others, even if they encroach upon our rights, we sacrifice ourselves for the Kingdom, just as Jesus did.

JUSTICE IN ACTION

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4)

SOVEREIGNTY

Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity? (V15)

DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY-GOD

Woe to him who strives with his Maker, an earthen vessel with the potter. Does the clay say to him who fashions it, “What are you making? Or Your work has no handles?” (Isaiah 45:90)

O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? says the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. (Jeremiah 18:6)

DIVINE SOVEREIGTY-DAVID & JOB

Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance; in thy book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalms 139:16)

Since his days are determined, and the number of his months is with thee, and thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass. (Job 14:5)

ON LIFE ISSUES……..

Sometimes we deal with it.

Sometimes we bear with it.

Sometimes we live with it.

Sometimes we leave it with God.
