HeatWork’s heating andthawing concept

Advantages Utilising HeatWork systemsand our heating and thawing concept givesyour company a competitive advantageamong other operators in the market.Your projects continue forward whilstothers wait for the frost to thaw.HeatWork concepts have been extremelywell-received in the building and constructi-

on industry. User-friendly and effectivemachines with low operating costs haveset a new standard for heating in buildingsand thawing of ground frost in cold clima-tes. HeatWork is the future!

Applications The target user groups arethose that require frost-free materials or

areas in order to carry out effective andhigh-quality work all year round. In additionto thawing, frost prevention and curingoperations, HeatWork systems can beused to heat spaces and buildings underconstruction or restoration.

Thaw effect: 30-40 cm depth per 24 hours.

Flexible heating hoses are laid out onthe area to be thawed, cured or protec-ted from frost. Rigging/dismantling takesapprox 1 hour for an area of 200 m2.

The machines are equipped with theworld’s leading boiler and burner techno-logy. Boilers up to 105kW and burners upto 119 kW capacity.

HW heat-transporting liquid circulatesin a closed system and radiates heatdirectly into the ground. The liquid is adju-sted to the desired temperature, 0-100°C.

The hoses are then covered with reflecti-ve HW Insulation Mats for maximum heattransfer to prevent heat loss.

The moisture in the material is heatedand thawing begins rapidly and effectivelydown into the ground (30-40 cm per 24hour period, depending on ground conditi-ons).

The machines work unmanned until thejob is completed. A GSM control unit willalert operators in case of any problems.

Winter has traditionally been a time of waiting and even lay-offs in the building and con-

struction industry. HeatWork systems provide a competitive advantage; operations

can continue all year round, whatever the weather. Stoppages and staff lay-offs are avo-

ided. HeatWork makes your company a winner in competition with other operators.

How the HeatWork system works:

ReliabilityBased on leading technological develop-ments and quality-controlled componentsfrom leading manufacturers, HeatWork’spatented heating and thawing concept isthe leader in the market.

GSM A GSM control unit allows the machi-ne to work unmanned – the unit alerts ope-rators should any problems occur.CE-certified All our models are CE-certifiedand designed for the European market.Service The machines have few, easilyaccessible service points. Proximity to themarket, service personnel and 24-hour ser-vice hotline provides customers with majoradvantages.

ProfitableHeatWork’s extended areas of use andimproved heating and thawing effect com-pared to other methods will increase yourprofitability.

Year-round operations Winter is no longerregarded as “waiting time” – stable pro-gress is possible in all seasons and lay-offsand project suspensions are avoided.Advantages for constructionproject tenders By using HeatWork sys-tems you can offer a guaranteed projectprogress plan and provide quality controlledresults – thus reducing the risk of guaran-tee claims.Lower operational costs With low operati-onal costs, such as fuel consumption, thecost per thawed square metre is extremelylow.

FlexibilityHeatWork has worked closely within themarket to develop and manufacture machi-nes with different spesifications and capaci-ties tailored to your needs.

Varied use The machines can be used atseveral stages of building and constructionprojects; from thawing of frost, frost pre-vention to curing of concrete and heating ofhalls and buildings etc.Area Depending on the type of machine andadditional equipment, areas from 10 to 800m2 can be covered for thawing.Trailer/container The machines are sup-plied on a CE-certified trailer for effectivetransport and use, or in containers formore arduous conditions.

EfficiencyHeatWork has developed and patented a 3-section hose reel with several short hoselengths. This means that the return tempe-rature of the heated liquid is maintained, leading to more rapid thawing. The heatingefficiency is 92% - the highest ratio in theindustry.

Minimal heat loss Our machines providemaximum heat transfer, with just 5% heatloss when used in combination with HWInsulating Mats and tarpaulins.Thawing effect The large pump capacityand short hose lengths provide rapid circu-lation of liquid and a high return temperatu-re. For example: an area of 200 m2 can bethawed at a rate of 30-40 cm per 24 hourperiod.HW Insulation Mats Our specially-develo-ped mats with a 3-layer reflective aluminiumcoating minimize heat loss and are highlyeffective, both in terms of thaw rate andcost savings.

User-friendlyOur machines are developed with ease ofoperation, ergonomics and effective designin mind.

Simple rigging/dismantling It takesapprox 1 hour to rig the machine for anarea of 200 m2. The machine itself weighsjust under 2000 kg and can be towed by acar or van.Operation The machine can work unman-ned for approx 3.5 days. An integratedGSM unit alerts operators in case of anyproblems.Smart solutions The rear door functionsas an overhead awning when open, offeringprotection from the weather . Lighting isalso integrated into the door. The machineruns from a standard electrical supply(220V) or via an integrated generator.

EnvironmentThe reduction of noise and pollution is anongoing challenge for the building and con-struction industry. HeatWork’s heating andthawing concept is the market’s most effec-tive and environmentally-friendly alternativewith the lowest CO2 emissions per m2.

Sealed system HeatWork’s sealed heatliquid system is environmentally-friendly.Direct heat The hoses are laid directly onthe ground. The hoses are covered and theheat is radiated into the ground with just5% heat loss, which in turn leads to low die-sel consumption.Working environment and conditionsBy using radiator fans connected to aHeatWork system to heat a building, theinterior climate and working environment isimproved. The low-noise fans do not emitodors or moisture and distribute the heatevenly.

“ We needed a new, flexible system for tha-

wing of ground frost that could increase the

efficiency of municipal works during the win-

ter. We chose HeatWork. The concept also

offers considerable environmental advanta-

ges - HeatWork uses a third of the fuel of

our previous system and reduces noise and

emissions in connection with thawing opera-

tions. This is especially important to us as

we often work in the centre of town and in

urban areas”
