Client University of Teesside

Value £463,000
Description Installation of new low pressure hot water heating systemwithin university halls of residence comprising 4accommodation blocks totalling 196 apartments. This contractrequired the installation of full heating systems within eachblock. This included 14 gas fired appliances with outputs of130KW complete with 343 thermostatically controlled radiators.All associated BMS control systems were also installed. Newlighting systems in corridors and communal areas were alsoinstalled, along with a new suspended ceiling installation.Associated fire alarm alterations were also undertaken as partof this contract. HV&E also installed thermal loft insulation andboarded out the lofts to allow future working access.

Client Elm House Apartments, Stockton on Tees
Location Tristar Homes/Stockton on Tees Borough Council

Description Boiler plant installation and heating system upgrade in a high-rise apartment block comprising 46 properties currentlyoccupied by tenants. Work was carried out to decommissionand replace the existing boiler plant with new high efficiencyboiler plant and heating system. The contract required theinstallation of new BMS controls. All required electrical work toupgrade associated electrical supplies to current regulatorystandards and recommendations were carried out. All worksto associated lighting, pipework, thermal insulation, buildingworks and decorating works were also completed.

Client Esh Property Services for Dale and Valley Homes
Location Wear Valley
Disciplines Electrical Rewires and Refurbishments
Value £1,026,000
Description Electrical rewires and refurbishments to domestic propertiesacross the Wear Valley. The programme took place over threeyears with over 800 domestic properties receiving electricalrewires and refurbishments. The rewires involved completereplacement of the electrical installation in accordance withBS7671 17th edition IET Wiring regulations. Refurbishmentsinvolved replacement of consumer units and accessories, newcircuits to kitchens & bathrooms along with additions of powerpoints and external lighting. Test certificates were providedelectronically to the client on a weekly basis. Both the rewireand refurbishment work to each domestic property werecompleted within one day to reduce disruption for residents.All installation work is registered with the local buildingcontrol via NICEIC approved contractor scheme ensuring fullcompliance with Part P of the building regulations.

Description A programme of inspection and testing of electricalinstallations in domestic properties in accordance with BS7671.Around 600 properties were inspected and tested. Theprogramme included carrying out remedial works to the codeone and code two departures identified in the ElectricalInstallation Condition Report. Reports were providedelectronically to the client on a weekly basis.
