AUTHORISATION TO WORK I

• On arriving at site, please contact your host via Reception

• Your host will provide a full health and safety induction

• A risk assessment must be completed and all relevant training certificates submitted prior to any work taking place

• Where a permit to work is required, no work shall commence until the permit has been authorised and issued by the College Representative.

• It is the contractors responsibility to view the Asbestos register – a copy is available on reception

• Obtain your Contractors Pass – this must be worn at all times

AUTHORISATION TO WORK II

• Please work in designated areas only, as identified by your host

• Whilst undertaking work, please report any issues to your host immediately

• On completion of your work, please notify your host and sign off all relevant permits and risk assessments

• On leaving site, your Contractors Pass must be returned to Reception

WORKING SAFELY

All Contractors must adhere to the RNCM Contractors Code of Conduct.

If you have not seen a copy of this you should request a copy and read through it before starting any work

If given a corrective action from the College you or your management must take action immediately

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES - FIRE

On hearing the fire alarm:

• If a continuous alarm tone sounds, evacuate the College by your nearest, safest exit and proceed to the fire assembly point on the over ground car park (marked on the College Plan)

On discovering a fire:

• Raise the fire alarm using a break glass point • Proceed to the fire assembly point on the over ground car park (marked on the College

Plan)• Remain at the fire assembly point until given an instruction to return to work

Tests / Drills

• Contractors will be notified of any fire alarm tests or evacuation exercises on arrival

HOUSEKEEPING & WELFARE

• Working areas must be cleaned and rubbish removed at regular intervals

• Washroom facilities are located throughout the college, and are available for contractors to use as required

• Food must be consumed in the restaurant area only

• Smoking is not permitted in the College. A smoking shelter is provided on the over ground car park

• All contractors must ensure that all waste produced on site is disposed of in the correct manner. The College expects all contractors to apply the principles of the waste hierarchy.

Asbestos Location 1

Asbestos board is contained in some of the wall cavities between the officesand rehearsal rooms in the Main Building Level 3. Do not drill or work in these cavities or on the inside walls of the entrance lobby’s to these rooms.

Asbestos Location 2

Asbestos is contained within the material fabric of the Opera Theatre stage fire curtain.

This has been sealed and is inspected annually. Do not drill cut or fix anything to the curtain.

Asbestos Location 3

Asbestos cement board is contained in the first 3 light fittings on the upper level of the Opera Theatre disabled seating area. This should not be disturbed.

If a fault occurs with any of these fittings, other than a lamp change the asbestos will have to be removed by a licensed asbestos removal company.
