CHRISTMAS MASS SCHEDULE After reconsideration, St.

Bernard Christmas Masses will be 4:30 pm on Christmas

Eve and 8:45 am on Christmas Day. Please note that

there will not be an 8:30 pm Christmas Eve Mass.

MINISTERS, LECTORS AND SERVERS New schedules will

be available in the sacristy after Masses this weekend.

CHICKEN NOODLE WORKSHOPS Chicken pickin will be

held Thursday, November 12th, starting at 9:00 a.m.

We will need a lot of hands to de-bone the chicken. We

are in need of men for chicken picking, the packing of

quarts on November 13th starting at 9:00 am and the

day of the dinner, November 14th, as many of the pans

are heavy. Any time you can give is appreciated. Please

contact Brian & Michelle Reynolds at 688-3560 for

information or questions.

CHICKEN NOODLE SIGN UP If you have not yet signed up

to work at the Chicken Noodle Dinner, please contact

Sharon Snyder at 688-4738.

IN REMEMBRANCE We

continue to remember our

deceased loved ones during

this month of November. You

may enter the names of your

relatives and loved ones in

the book of life in front of the

St. Joseph altar. In addition, Purgatorian envelopes to

remember our deceased at Masses throughout the year

are available at the doors of the church. Simply place an

offering and the names you wish to be remembered in

Masses. These will be said periodically and listed as

Purgatorian Society. May all of the souls of the faithful

departed rest in peace.

From the Pastor

Friends,

It may not quite be time to "deck the halls with

boughs of holly" but there are signs that the

Christmas season is almost here! For our Heart of

Peoria Catholic Community, the St. Bernard's Chicken

Noodle dinner is something like the official kick off of

the holidays. Next Saturday from 2:00-7:00 pm, you

are all invited to a taste of Peoria tradition. Our

famous chicken and noodles are accompanied by

homemade desserts, the famous "St. Peter's

cranberry relish," and Christmas crafts by the

Franciscan Sisters of St. John the Baptist. Take-out

dinners and quarts are also available.

The holidays are also times for us to remember the

less fortunate in our community. Sr. V and Claire

have already started preparation for the annual

Christmas Basket drive at Sophia's Kitchen. This

year, the total expense will be likely top $8,000 to

provide Christmas meals for hundreds of hungry

families. Consider an early Christmas gift to Sophia's

Kitchen. Drop checks made out to

"Sophia's Kitchen" in any of our collection baskets or

visit our parish website -- PeoriaCatholic.org -- to

make secure, on-line donations.

Peace and all good things to each of you, Msgr. Deptula
