Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the 3rd edition of Military Logistics & Procurement Kuwait. The 2016 edition is proud to welcome the support of the newly-formed Armament & Procurement Authority of the Kuwait Armed Forces and its Chief, Major General Lafi Al Aazmi.

The principal themes for this year’s conference stem from changes and reforms which have taken place in Kuwait in recent times, most notably the reform of the procurement procedures and the increasing role played by coalition and international logistics in the country’s military operations.

Accordingly, the conference this year will address these areas as its main themes and we are proud to once again welcome world-leading militaries who will bring together the skills and experience necessary to overcome these challenges and contribute to an atmosphere of cooperation and coordination in international military logistics and procurement.

We hope that the event will also serve as a chance for militaries and members of industry to form closer bonds and develop an aspect of human interoperability, in order to form a cohesive network which can work together in the future.

I look forward to creating such a forum and welcoming you all to Kuwait in November.

Kind regards,

Rory Keith Conference Director – Military Logistics & Procurement Kuwait

Why Kuwait?2015 was a major year for the Kuwait Armed Forces, as the nation embarked in joint action as part of the coalition of forces in Yemen, as well as beginning a programme of reform of its defence procurement processes aimed at being more efficient.

Supported by the Armament & Procurement Authority of the Kuwait Armed Forces, the 2016 Military Logistics & Procurement Kuwait conference will serve as a platform to share information about military logistics, with special reference to the experiences of Kuwait and its regional neighbours, allowing participants to address the challenges and discuss best practices in the fields of defence logistics and procurement.

“Well organised, interesting, surprised to see all the defence officials under one roof”Sreeran Menon, Managing Director, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics

“The conference provided a well-rounded range of views which provided for a balanced, comprehensive event”Kevin Burgess, Senior Research Fellow, Cranfield University

“Excellent opportunity to gain a better understanding of international/coalition logistics”Wing Commander Paul Jones, Chief Operations Officer, Allied Movement Control Centre, NATO
