description

Health | Tech | Food is a space and time to innovate around the core health issues of New York through the lens of social technology. While social technology most frequently addresses the upper half of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, we will explore how these same technologies can also serve greater societal needs, namely, our health. Following short, grounding presentations from renown thought leaders, participants will engage in one of four ideation workshops: open source health, food systems, the quantified self or mobile health. All ideation inputs and outputs will be publicly published so that anyone can adopt and implement the solutions.

The best innovations are born when diverse minds collaborate.

Therefore, we welcome a diverse cross-section of thinkers, problem-solvers and builders who are passionate about health and technology, but rarely get the chance to come together.

In small groups, we will conduct rapid ideation in response to an assigned problem statement. Quantity is more important than quality.

Page 13: Health | Tech | Food, An Open Innovation Event

Following the ideation round, each small group will develop 1 or more concepts that solve for the problem statement.

We will get a chance to review other small groups’ concepts, each marking the concepts we think are the most viable.

These concepts will be presented in the plenary regroup.
