Course background

• Originally developed for a MBA Health Care Management programme in 2004

• Great interest by World Bank

• Taught at TU Berlin since 2009; completely revised since spring 2017 for the new MSc. Public Health programme

• Tested in November 2017 for new KNUST programme which started last year (2018/2019 academic year)

• In this round, “Financing” will be covered in more depth in separate module (module 4 Nov – 15 Nov)

People, institutions and resources, arranged together in accordance with established policies,

to improve the health of the population they serve, while responding to people’s legitimate expectations

and protecting them against the cost of ill-healththrough a variety of activities whose primary intent is
